God looked around his garden And found an empty space, He then looked down upon this earth, And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. He sow the rood was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, And whispered "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Lovingly remembered by the family. -45x DALE Pearl Dale died Oct. 29th, 1983 in her 50th year. We could not take your hand We could not say 'Goodbye' Rest easy, Lass. Conestoga College will develop a provincial productivity course Conestoga College will be developing the curriculum for one of six province -wide courses designed to promote awareness and practical application of productivity im- provement techniques in management. The six courses, known collectively as the Management Productivity Improvement Project, are being developed at the request of Dr. Bette Stephenson, Minister of Colleges and Universities, and will support Rob Knights of Clinton lead Cub leaders from across the Huron District in a Grand Howl last Saturday at the Clinton Public School. Rob and 40 other Cub, Scout and Beaver leaders participated in the workshop. ( Rod Hilts photo) the existing Ontario Management Development Program (OMDP). Administered by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, OMDP is designed to encourage the growth of managerial, leadership and entrepreneurial skills in Ontario. All six courses in this project will be ready for delivery beginning in September of 1984 and will be offered at all 22 Ontario com- munity colleges. The Conestoga course development is being co-ordinated by David Pinnington, the College's Productivity Consultant. "The aim of these courses is to accelerate the introduction of productivity techniques so that Ontario companies may improve their position in the marketplace," Pin- nington says. "Equally important is the goal of exploring ways to adapt to and utilize new technolgies effectively." To be developed with the co-operation of London's Fanshawe College, Brockville's St. Lawrence College and a task forge of practising productivity experts, the Conestoga course will be entitled Management Techniques for Productivity Improvement. It will consist of 40 hours of lectures, case studies and simulations that examine productivity improvement from a practitioner's viewpoint. The Conestoga course will serve as an overview of productivity improvement concepts and techniques. The remaining five courses, likewise being developed by one community college with the assistance of two other colleges and productivity ex- perts, will deal with specific areas where productivity improvement may be applied: production, marketing, human resources, accounting and finance, and information systems. According to Pinnington, Conestoga was selected for a leadership role because the College has been active in the area of productivity education since 1978. The College has developed its own Certificate program in Productivity Improvement Education. This part-time program - of- fered 9t the noon campus in Kitchener - explores practical ways and means of im- proving on-the-job productivity. For more information on the Management Productivity Improvement Project, contact David Pinnington at (519) 653-2511, Ext. 233.
