Huronview welcomed
Reverend Cheryl -Ann
Stadelbauer to morning wor-
ship on Sunday. Cheryl -Ann
was ordained into the United
Church ministry some weeks
ago and is now minister of
Egmondville United Church.
Huronview was honored to
have her preach her first
sermon here, and she will be
here next Sunday as well.
The choir sang an anthem
and after the service, the
residents met and chatted
with Cheryl -Ann and it was
the general feeling, that she
radiates a certain warmth
and sincerity to her con-
gregation.
Monday afternoon the Day
Centre sponsored a variety
program for the residents
held in the new auditorium.
Bonnie Jewitt introduced the
numbers. Lori Jewitt, in
lovely soprano voice sang
and was accompanied by
Bonnie. Sherri Preszcator,
who is no stranger to the folk
at Huronview, did an in-
tricate step dance routine of
clog, jig and reel. The Saucy
Sailors did a snappy step
dance. In colorful costumes,
the dancers taking part were
Scott Jewitt, Debbie Draper
and Stacey Reid. Robyn
Hicks played an interesting
piano medley and included
one of her own compositions.
A lively step dance of clog,
jig and reel was cleverly
done by Shannon Preszcator
followed by a musical com-
edy number and was ex-
cellently sung and danced by
Lori, and Scott Jewitt, ac-
companied by their mother
Bonnie Jewitt at the piano.
The performers this after-
noon displayed a wealth of
talent amongst them and
surely have a potential
future ahead ot them.
Residents appreciated their
corning to entertain and hope
they will be back again.

SEAFORTH - Everyone who
talked at the public works
committee meeting Aug. 2
agreed downtown Seaforth
needs more paintings,
greenery and beautification.
The downtown heritage
district plan, under study for
a year now, will recommend
how to go about it, deputy -
clerk Luanne Pheir said,
including some sort of at-
tractive arrangement at the
main intersection.
The Highway 8 corner
needs something that says to
passing motorists, "Hey
don't drive through, drive
down," Miss Phair said.

Although there have been
some problems with the
plan, a draft is expected by
the end of the year, she said.
The planner should get in
touch with the Horticultural
Society and the BIA for
comments and ideas, Mayor
Alf RosS suggested. Then,
Mrs. Phair said, a
beautification plan could be
roughly laid out in time to
allow spring planting.
"We'll ask the architect to
get in touch with either of
you as immediately as
possible," Councillor Paul
Ross told horticulturists
Gladys Doig and Ruth
Beuttenmiller. The two were
invited to the public works
meeting after they appealed
to council last month for
action to make Seaforth
rno-e attractive.
