Many winter enthusiasts headed to Bully Gully on the
weekend to see the newest snow machines of the season.
The Western Ontario Snowmobile Show was held at the
nutty Gully complex near Varna on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. Displays, practical demonstrations, main-
tenance clinics, racing techniques and a variety of other

where a smorgasbord lunch
and an evening meal were
held to celebrate their 45th
wedding anniversary.
Aaron and Ruth's family,
including their two sons Jim
aid Larry of Benmlller,
daughters-in-law, their
seven grandchildren and
Bob and Barry helped the
couple celebrate and the
Fishers thank their family
for the special day:
On December 4th, Aaron
and Ruth spent a quiet an-
niversary day, and enjoyed a
dinner at the Steak House
Restaurant in Seaforth, and
spent the evening visiting
friends in Seaforth.

Of the $30 million slated
for beef cattle assistance
programs, Huron County
beef producers received
over four million dollars.
Forty dollars per head was
paid out to 598 producers
who finished and sold a total
of 99,711 cattle in 1980 for a
grand total of $3,' •t; ,440.
Twenty dollars per head
was paid to 55 producers who
sold 4,876 cattle as stockers
in 1980, for a total of $97,520.

Beef Stocker
Program Amendment
An amendment has been
made to the 1980 beef cattle
assistance program for
stocker cattle. Previously
only calves that were bought
and sold were eligible. The
amendment now includes
beef calves - that were rais-
ed in Ontario by the appli-
cant; sold for finishing pur-
poses in the 1980 calendar
year; and weighing at least
600 pounds at time of sale.

Interdenominational Chris-
tian High School Society held
its fall membership meeting
in the Wingham Bible Chapel
on November 27. The
membership instructed the
Board to proceed with plans
to open a Christian High
School in Wingham in
September, 1982. The school
will begin with Grades 9 and
10.

1981 Beef Cow -Calf
Assistance Program
The program is designed
to assist beef calf producers
who kept a breeding herd of
beef type cows during 1981.
The amount of the grant is
$40per eligible cow. .
Plan Details:
(1) Eligible applicant: - a
resident of Ontario in 1981; -
owned a minimum of five
eligible cows on the declara-
tion
eclaration date; and - maintained a
herd of beef cows for
breeding purposes.
(2) Eligible Animals: -
females kept for beef pur-
poses that have or will have
a calf in 1981 and, owned by
the applicant on August 1, ,,
1981.
(3) Animals Not Eligible: -
cows from which milk is
marketed under Federal or
Provincial quotas and herds
that are maintaingd outside
of the province of Oktario.
(4) The applicant must be
prepared to produce a
receipt for cows ld since
August 1, 1981.
(5) All applican are sub-
ject to audit.
(6) Final appli on date
