WANTED: one big, gentle,
quiet, patient and
housebroken dog for a part
in William Gibson's The
Miracle Worker to be
presented at Huron Country
Playhouse July 21 - 30. No
particular breed required
but it is imperative that the
dog selected is very good
with children.
Though Huron Country
Playhouse is often home to a
variety of animals including
barn swallows, raccoons and
an assortment of barn cats,
auditioning a dog for an im-
portant part on stage is a
real first.
In The Miracle Worker,
the dog belongs to the
Kellers and is dramatically
important in the teaching
methods used by Annie
Sullivan to help the blind
and deaf Helen Keller
realize that every object has
a name and that knowing the
names provides the first
great key towards open com-
munication with the world.
Auditions for dogs will be
held at the Playhouse on
Sunday, June 12 from 11 a.m.
to 2 p.m. No appointments
are necessary.

formers or groups of up to

cepted.

for this area will be held in
Exeter at the South Huron
Rec. Centre during Heritage
Days on Friday, July 22 at
7:30 p.m. This competition is
sponsored by the
Agricultural Society.

chosen to compete at London
Western Fair, September 9
to 18.
The winning act at
Western fair receives $500
cash and a trip to Memphis
to compete with youngsters
from throughout Canada and
the United States for prizes
worth up to $7,500.

by Thursday, June 30, 1983.

Call her what you will --
Lady Luck, Dame Fortune,
or any of the other names
generations of people have
given her! She'll be paying a
very special visit to Huron
Country Playhouse on Satur-
day, June 4 to help celebrate
Monte Carlo Night, the an-
nual season opener for On-
tario's fastest growing sum-
mer theatre.
Wheels of fortune and
games of chance will provide
the main focus for the even-
ing's events but there will be
many extra special treats
for those in attendance.
Among these great treats
will be musical entertain-
ment provided by the Beaver
Valley Boys and Friends.
And the Midnight Special
will be a draw for a trip for
two to Las Vegas provided
by Ellison Travel of Exeter
and Huron Country
Playhouse.
So come on out and court
the fickle Lady as she
decides your fortune for the
evening. The festivities com-
mence at 7:30 p.m and con-
