The grade 9 music class started off the night with three selections, they did a wonderful job and have im- proved 100 per cent since the Christmas concert. The band followed the grade 9 class. They played several difficult pieces aim- ed at developing a greater versatility from each in- dividual on his instrument. The band met this challenge head on and put forth great sounding pieces. Many songs featured sectional solo as well as single instrument solo s. The flutes showed their talent in the piece "Flute Flight". Many instruments shone in the song "Let It Be". Both the trumpet and trombone sections should be congratulated on their fine performance. Also during this medley, Jackie Norman performed for the audience a flawless solo on the saxophone. She played "The Long and Win- ding Road" to perfection. Next in line was the chior. Before the choir perforrned there was an intermission, allowing the band members who happened to be choir members also to deposit their instruments and get their voices all tuned up for the next phase of the pro- gram 47 Card of thanks EVENING UNIT We would like In thonk everyone who helped in any way to mnkr' our lith Annual Garage Sole Sur h n trprnendous surreys Evening Unit of the Blyth 0 c W 14 TOWNSHEND Bishop Williom Townshend rind family evpressps 'heir grateful thanks and rfpep npprprlotion to friends and rnlot, ves for dere) 1,.hutes nlPnlnri(71 inn Iribunate rind rnessnge of sym pothy r pi o,, pd nt the lime of the Inss nt n dpvntpd wife Kathleen dear mother greed mother and grew grandmother Sin(PrP g/nli tilde is e,,ipndpd to the parishioners of Si Inmos Chur(h Middlotne 1,ioityChur rh Roytield and St Poul s Chur (h Clinton You, kindness /.ill olwoys he remembered God bless yon nil 10 The choir sang six pieces. Four of the six were ones that they had done at the Kiwanis Festival. The last two were songs that they had learned at the Choir Workshop. Half way through the choir's pieces the Girl's Chorus took over and per- formed four songs. Three of these were also pieces the Girl's Chorus had done at Kiwanis. The choir finished off the concert. One full year's work came to an end in one night well... that's not entirely true. The choir still has one more church to sing at and the band has just begun practis- ing marches for the Klompen Feest parade.
