reading. Ida then gave an in-
teresting account of their
trip to Jamaica. Euchre was
then played. Winners were:

Jessie Jones and Mary

Education Week at Vanastra
Public School the Ministry of
Education recognizes the
week of April 5 to April 29 as
Education Week in Ontario.
The theme this year is
Education for Tomorrow
The staff of the Vanastra
Public School had planned to
offer a workshop to in-
troduce mucro -computers to
the Conunwuty. However.
because of lack of interest in
the topic, the workshop was
cancelled
Tomorrow. Thursday , ,he
school will be open in the
morning fur open house You
are invited to corse up and
see a regular morning at the
school.
On 'Thursday afternoon,
weather permitting, the
children will release
balloons renunding people
downwind of Education
Week and asking the persons
who find the balloons to
write back.
At 7:30 un Thursday even-
ing a film entitled The Puw er
of Listening will be shown to
adults (parents) at the
school. If you are planning to
attend the showing please
call 2-7828 so that enough
chairs will be set up.
Friday is a Professional
Activity Day. The Vanastra
teachers will be attending
workshops at Howick Cen-
tral School in North Eastern
Huron County.
On May 13 Grades 4, 5 and
6 will be visiting the Science
Circus at the Livery Theatre
un Goderich. On May 20 the
Grade 6 will spend the day in
the bush. Personnel from the
Ministry of the Environment
will be on hand to conduct
workshops.
