On Monday evening, Blyth
was illuminated for the first
time be electricity. The
lights are very brilliant and
steady.
It had been rumored all
day that the lights would
make their appearance, and
a large crowd of citizens and
country people promenaded
our streets and viewed the
beautiful lights. Some are
not satisfied and others are
well pleased. It's hard to suit
everybody. - from The News -
