Chefs Ilan Hulley and Uc By Betty McCall Musical Evening The UCW of Duff's United Church presented a musical evening in the auditorium of the church Sunday evening Mrs. Ray Huether and Mrs. Graeme Craig were at the door. Ushers were Mrs. Doug Fraser; Mrs. Lavern Godkin; Mrs. Allan McCall and Mrs. Barry Hoegy. Rev. Charles A. Swan, Master of Ceremonies welcomed everyone. Mrs. Marie McGavin was at the organ. Mrs. Viola Kirkley U.C.W. President gave a warm welcome to everyone. The Seaforth Harmony Kings were special guests and they sang several numbers with Barry Mahon as chorus director. Local talent also con- tributed to the program Mrs. Gloria Wilbee sang two solos accompanied by Mrs. Elva Wilbee at the piano. Don McDonald sang solos with Mrs. Elva Wilbee assisting as pianist, followed by Mrs. Carol Henderson and Mrs. Gloria Willis singing a duet. The Seaforth Harmony Kings thrilled the large audience again with several of their choruses. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bennett off New Market visited on Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Humphries. Mrs. Carolyn Sullivan and Mark of Waterloo visited a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Fraser and Cheryl. Mrs. Katie Stimore of Stratford visited Monday and Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Reid, Mrs. Jim Scott, Blyth was a supper guest with them on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Machan and family and Mrs. Laura Machan of Sarnia visited on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Reid. Hall. The smorgasbord dessert was followed by a short program, which included a sing -song led by Mrs. Ross Anderson and Mrs. George Johnston at the piano. Heather Hopper delivered her speech on "Socks". Steven Coultes played two piano solos; Mrs. George Johnston played several Irish numbers on the piano. Mrs. Leslie Bolt read three poems. Rev. John Roberts stated that according to historical facts which have been released St. Patrick was of a Welsh origin; not Irish. Following the program 19 tables of Court Whist were in play. Winners were: high lady Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse; second high lady - Mrs. Agnes Bieman; novelty lady - Mrs. Laura Johnston; low lady, Mrs. George .h athstcn; °sail man, Bert Johnston; second high than, Alex Nethery; novelty man, George Procter; low man Ken Davis. Clayton Bosman and Debbie Wilson of Prince George, B.C. visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bosnian and family. Mrs. Hazel Procter was able to return to her home last week after being a patient in the University Hospital, London. Mr. William Gow is a patient in the Wingham and District Hospital. Mr. and MrS. Calvin Nixon, Jeremy and Jordan of Waterloo visited on the weekend at the home of John Nixon. Euchre tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall on March 9. The lights are very brilliant and steady. It had been rumored all day that the lights would make their appearance, and a large crowd of citizens and country people promenaded our streets and viewed the beautiful lights. A large number attended the Londesboro Lions Club Old Tyme Breakfast on Sun- day. 4-H news The Londesboro III 4-H club held its fourth meeting at the home of Helen Kolkanan. Members talked about the food of Italy, Italian cheeses, pasta and antipasto. They cooked antipasto, middle Eastern stuffed vegetables, apple pie Greek style and mint tea. The food was enjoyed by all.
