Holmesville 4-H meeting held The first meeting of the Holmesville II 4-H homemaking club was held at the home of leader, very Van Ninhuys on Feb. 5. We all tasted different kinds of soynuts, some were salted, barbecued, and some were covered in yogurt. We opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge and then we prepared our food and put it into the oven. We discussed our "Ontario Heritage" books and had the election of officers. The results were: President, ,Julia Ritchie; Vice President, Janet Due ,.:rme; Secretary, Kim DePutter; Treasurer, Rosita Brand; Press Reporter, Barb !::rand. We took our food from the oven when it was done and tasted it. We were to make a list of herbs and spices from home and other work from our books. Tuckersmith UC Tuckersmith UCW Unit 1 met February 8 and Mrs. Hazel McNaughton took her theme on Time. She noted, never bear more than one trouble at a time as other troubles may never happen anyway. Famfest is a fellow -up of Rural School Week which was held last year. During Famfest Grades 1 through 8 participated in a variety of activities that educated them about what it's like to be in a family. Each child participated in a daily social studies ac- tivity. All activities in math, science, art, physical education as well as social studies was orientated towards family. According to Principal Arnold Mathers the event was successful. He noted,"It was just an excellent week.
