The Merchants got three
goalsy from Jim Bell Sunday,
as they racked up their f'ou`rth
win in as many game
thumping Sifto Salt 6-3. ,Be
notched his first marke Alin
the opening period only six
seconds after Sifto had tied
the game -at one. He added
two more goals in the final
period.
Merchants got single goals
from John Hoy, Ron Whet-
stone and Dennis Lebrun.
Lorne Raymond led the Sifto
tr attack with two goals and
Warren Watt added a single.
The 'win left the Merchants
undefeated as ear1i•tr in the

'Rockets 5-3 and hammered.

The loss was the third of the

The Lions were able to pick
up three points in last week's
play. In a game played here

Progressive Conservative
national party leadership has
been the entrance of a local
plan into.the race. ' •
Jim Watson, proprietor of
the Village . Restaurant in
Blyth, says his campaign for
.the leadership has been well
organized for some time and
began when he was still living
in western Canada. Mr..
Watson has a committee
behind him with represen-
tatives - from across the
country. National • chairman
is Bill Childerhose of Thor-
ndale and the campaign
'manager is Tom Gorman of
Calgary,.
Mr, Watson said last week
that -his campaign has gone
on quietly behind the scenes
in the- party but has found
wide spread support both in
the western provinces and in
Ontario.
Mr. Watson says he has,had
25 years of political ex-
perience. He believes in free
enterprise, a high standard of
Christian morality in politics
`and government and the right
of every citizen to choose his
own way of life. -
Kincardine scored the only
goal in the second .period by
Dave Tomalty as he also got
the tying goal in the final
period. The final score was 3-
