The community broad-
casting program for cable TV
customers in the Goderich
area has overcome' equip-
ment problems and the
people involved in the non-
profit venture are hopeful
that beginning tonight they
will be airing productions
involving local, iss,pes,
projects and people.
The series of productions
planned for the next few
weeks are a sample of the
type of shows the community
broadcasting workers are
trying to put together.
The group, headed up by
program directors ChrisJ
Cavanaugh and Beth
arkson, is sending out an
urgent appeal to viewers. of
Cable TV to contact them
with ideas and volunteers to
man the Holmesville studio
for future programs.
"We had a few equipment
problems since we last tried
to promote community
broadcasting and the idea
never really got off the

ground:- said director Chris
Cavanaugh.
The Channel 12 efforts have
been limited in the past with
the regular Monday night
Lion's bingo being ,the only
program that has been
continuously staffed and
viewed. Other efforts by
service clubs such as panel
discussions and candidate
meetings during municipal
elections were successful and
are the ' type of things the
community broadcasting
program is aimed at.
With the arrival of the
equipment needed to air a
program the Holmesville
studio is now operational witch
all the basics needed to tape
and transmit a program.
"We have lights and -
cameras but our problel'n now
is that we have no action,"
said Mr. Cavanaugh.
The latest effortfor co`tn-
murlity broadcasting is a
nightly schedule of programs
from November 27 to
December 5. The programs
include, 3lpanel discussions,
irrteryiri ';, musicals and
instructional programs
featuring local talent.
One of the programs
highlighting the series is a
grudge match between
euchre playing members of
the Knights of Columbus and
the Foresters. The , two
clubs. held a K,of C sponsored
tournament recently and the
best players from both, clubs
are going to decide a winner
on the community broad-
casting network. .
"This is the type of thing we
want to get going," said Mr.
Cavanaugh. "Local people
doing things they normFally, do
only doing them on television.
We want to have fun."
Tonight's program is a
panel type discussion on
soccer by members of the
Goderich United Soccer Club
and will be followed by a film
entitled For Goodness Sake
aired by the Goderich branch
of the Canadian Bible Society.
