Now that, the local
schedules are underway, it's
time to think about the main
Bonspiels scheduled at 'the
club.
This Saturday December 6,
is The Sheaffer Pen Men's
Bonspiel. This means that
there will be no high school
curling in the afternoon, as
this event runs the whole day.
• The next big spiel for the
Harbor
sport
November 11 the Prindoc
arrived light from Harbor
Beach for salt, the Coast
,Guard Cutter Rapid left on
patrol before returning to her
home port for the winter.
November 19, the Avondale
arrived light from Sarnia for
salt.
November 23 the Hamildoc
arrived light from Hamilton
for salt, the Paterson arrived
light.from Conneaut for salt.

Sailors tied for to
spot in the league

Goderich Sailors suffered
their second loss of the season
last Wednesday evening as
Paisley. edged Goderich 3-2;
on a third period gO'al by Jack
Howe,
Ron Sowerby who played
his best game to date, opened
the scoring as he beat Dave
Riggin, unassisted at the 3:53
markof the first period.
Jerry Thompson combined
with Rick Denomy, and
Dennis Neilly with only five
seconds remaining in the first
period•to tie the game at one
apiece.
Paisley went ahead early in
the middle period as Doug
McAllister was left un-
protected in front of the net as
Russ Watters and Jack Howe
assisted. Goderich Sailors
Curlers open
'75 season
The Goderich Industrial
Curling League's. 1975 season
opened last week -with six of
the seven league teams going
into action.
The number of teams
competing this year in the
league has not yet been
established and won't be until
the entry closing date set for
December 10.
Two Dominion- Roads
Machinery teams entered
this year opened their season
with victories as did one of
the two teams fielded by
Goderich area school
teachers. The DRMCo Plant
team put, away the Tea"cher
One squad while their
counterparts DRMCo Office
defeated the Lions Club team.
In the other game of the
evening the Teacher Two
team helcroff a late end rally,,
by the Kinsmen for a sqneaky
8-6 win. The teachers led 7-1
after four ends but John
Schneiker led• the Kinsmen
back with five points in three
ends but the teachers got a
,,point in the final end to hang
On to their victory.
The Financial Team did not
see'action on opening night.
The closing date for team
entries for the league is set
for two weeks time and
anyone wishing to enter the
league must form a team
'consisting of employees of
- their sponsor or the em-
ployee's wives.

Dave Riggin was the -star of
the game as he made several
outstanding saves in the
second and final period.
Ron Sowerby slid one past
Dave Riggin to tie the game
at the 14:35 mark of the
second period, but this was all
the scoring the Goderich
Sailors could do, Several
Sailors were not dressed for
the game, this along with
Paisley being outshot 15 to
font in the final -period did not
help Goderich's cause as
Jack Howe scored the only
goal of the final period at the
6:40 mark,
Travelling to ,Harriston for
a Friday night .contest, the
Sailor^ managed a tie as Cam
MacDonald came through
with the hat trick and Ron
Miller got the other goal.
Final sore was 4-4.
Milverton will'be in Town
on Novp-mber 26 and then on
Thursdaynight the Sailors
take on Clinton in Cltiiton.
. The Sailors will have a return
match with Clinton on

Juveniles played one of their
worst games here Saturday
'night as.the Howick Juvenile
"D" club beat them easily by
a score -a18-4.
Howick opened the first
-period with four goals as Rick
Jacklyn and defenceman
Wayne Nichol each pi'ck,etrup
two goals. Before the period
ended, Scott Kennedy got two
quick goals in the last minute
of play to make it 4-2. •
. Howick went ahead 5-2 on a
goal at the 53 second mark .of
, the second period as Tom
Graham went in all alone to
beat Pete Duckworth. Signal
Stars were in .the game for a'
while in the second period as
they managed to pick up two -
goals to make it 5-4, but that
was, as close as they got. as
Howick scored throe more
goals, one in the second and,
two unanswered goals in the
final period,

Penalties hurt the Signal
Starsas they were called for
14 minor penaltieS. Howick
picked up only nine • minor
penaltiesin the ame.
Travelling to Harriston
Sunday, the Signal Stars
managed to edge Harriston 6-
5, Dale Duncan brought up
from the Midgets' picked up
two goals in the game. Other
