Last Wednesday's garne,
November 5th was no contest
as 'the Goderich Sailors
whitewashed Acton Tanners
by a whopping score of 17-0.
The three stars of the game
were Kevin Meriam, Ron
Sowerby and Rob Kellestine.-
It was 3-0 at the end of the
'first period as Wayne Draper
opened the scoring at the 2:14

The new Canadian Tire
Corporation store on Huron

opening were Mayor Dr.
Frank Mills, owner Dom Fox
and Canadian Tire vice-

arena during past weeks are

As if the arena hadn't been
through enough already, the
Branch 109 Royal Canadian
Legion has offered to cover
costs up to $6,000 for part of
the renovation program at
the Goderich„ Memorial
Arena. The money, to.be paid'
over a period of three , is to be
put towards purchase, and
installation of a heating
system And. vapour lights.
The heating will be for the
seating area around, the rink,
to add yet another comfort to
the spectators.

In the second period, the
Sail -Ors went ahead, 7-0 on
goals by Ron Sowerby,
Wayne Doak, Tom Crawford
and Dfrk.Wolterbeek.
In the third period the
Sailors tallied for 10 more
goals. Ron Sowerby scored
two giving him a total of four
goals and an assist. Kevin,
Meriam also picked up two
goals for the hat trick plus
three'alssists.
Other goal scorers were
Jim Farrfsh, Wayne Doak,
Ron Miller, Tom Crawford,
John Fenwick and Jim
Hayter. Acton had several
scoring opportunities but
failed to beat Rob Kellestine
who made some outstanding
saves in the game to .earn his
first shut out of the season.
In a game played Friday
evening in Mitchell, the
Goderich Sailors lost .a close
bne by . the score. of 6-5
Kitchell soored three goals in
the final period to come from
behind , and hand Goderich
their'first loss of the season. .----
