scoreless before early in the
final period Eric Mitchell put
the Vikings up by four when
he split the uprights from 20.
Mark Frayne added a major
when he took off around the
left end for a 50 yard touch-
down run converted by
Mitchell that iced the game.
Stratford took advantage of
a fourth quarter Viking
fumble to march in for a
major but their two point
conversion effort attempt
stopped by defensive back
Jon Barz. The Viking defense
held Stratford on their final
desperation drive taking over

South Huron. Coach Ray
Donnelly said there was no ,
shame in the Goderich loss
adding he was very proud of
the seniors.
"There was no shame in the
loss, the players did as *ell as
they possibly could against a
bigger Exeter club,." said
Donnelly.
The senior coach said he
had expected Exeter to pass
against the Vikings and his
expectations were true.
`They passed on us all

"My players were there

Stratford at National
Stadium.
The win over Listowel saw
a much improved offensive
performance by the Vikings.
They were able to move the
ball effectively both on the
ground and in the air.
Improved blocking by the
offensive line was credited by
coach Ray Donnelly as one of
the main reasons for the
Vikings offensive success.
The Viking defence which
has played well all year,
allowed Listowel only 60
yards passing and held them
to minus yards rushing.
Gerry O'Brien, for the
second time this season, ran
back the opening kickoff for a
Viking touchdown, going 90
yards enroute.
Iain Lambert kicked the
convert.
Bernie Van Osch got the
Vikings' second major when
he recovered a blocked kick
in the Listowel end .zone. Van
Osch and Al Worgan were
responsible for blocking the
kick.
In the second quarter,
Listowel conceded a safety
touch to give the Vikings a 15-
0 halftime lead.
Lee "Wong" Arbour broke
loose for two Viking touch-
downs in the third quarter.
The first came on a'54 yard
option play, the other on a
five yard dive.
Scott Little scored on a
three 'yard dive and Gerry
O'Brien rambled 30 yards for
the final Vikirtg touchdowns:
Lambert kicked two ton-
verts and Steve Chase booted
a single. to round out the
Vikings second half scoring
spree.
