Wed in Ashfield
On Saturday, August 23rd at 4 p.m., Rev. Albert Cook
officiated at the double -ring ceremony in Trinity (Ashfield)
United Church in which Wanda Mae Hunter, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs: Jim Hunter of RR 3 Lucknow, became the bride of
Jack Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Miller of Barrie.
Baskets of pink and white gladioli were arranged in the
church.
Mrs. Jack Aitchison, Ripley, cousin of the bride, presided
at the orga Arid accompanied the soloist, Miss Mary Anne
Alton of RR 2 Lucknow. Miss Alton sang "0 Perfect Love"
preceding the ceremony, "We've Only Just Begun"
following the repeating ofthe vows, and the "Wedding Song"
during the signing of the register.
The bride, given • in marriage by her father, chose an
original empire waist. gown in white crystalette, imported
from England. The sleeves were short, pleated all around
bands of white centred with a tiny cluster of blue rosettes.
The gown was trimmed around the waist with blue ribbon
and.centred with a blue rosette. The long full skirt ended in a
train edged with a pleated ruffle and blue ribbon. Her
headdress, a Juliet caplet, held in place a two-tier pure silk
illusion veil, trimmed around the edges with lace to, match
the caplet., The bride carried a bouquet of white sweetheart
roses arranged with sprigs of blue statice and blue net.
Miss Nancy Bushell, RR 2 Holyrood was maid of honor,
wearing a floor -length gown'' of pink chiffon over,polyester
taffeta, square neckline; ruffled sleeves and matching pink
picture hat. She carried a wicker basket of white and pink
daisies.
The bridesmaids, Miss Donna Ritchie of Red Deer,
Alberta, and Miss Heather Hueston of Wingham, were
similarly attired in dresses of green'and yellow respectively.
They carried baskets of white and tinted daisiesto match
their dresses and hats. Bridal attendants wore silver, and
gold chokers arid bangles, gifts from the bride.
Best man was Ernie Miller of Barrie, brother of the groom
and 'ushers were Charlie Miller, brother of the grooni and
Doug Young, both from Barrie. The groom and attendants
wore royal blue tuxedos with matching ruffled shirts. ,
The dinner, at ,'Brookside School - was followed by a
reception with music by ran Wilbee and his orchestra. The
bride's mother°received the guests, wearing a floor -length,
sleeveless blue flowered dress of polyester nylon over taf-
feta,with a matching long-sleeved bolero with ruffled edges.
She wore a corsage of rose coloured carnations. The groom's
mother wore a long-sleeved blue arid pink floor -length
polyester dress and a corsage of pink carnations. Honored
guests were grandparents of the bride, Mr: and Mrs. Dan
Nicholson and Mrs. W. 0. Hunter.

Coral gladioli and white stephanotis decorating the can-
delabras enhanced with tall white tapers formed the setting
for the candlelight wedding on' August 30 at 6 p.m. when
Becky Lynn., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gord, Crawford of
Goderich became the brideof David Mclvor of Goderich.
Rev. Leonard Warr performed the double -ring ceremdhy
in Victoria Street United Church.
Music was provided by Mrs. Joe Snider who also ac-
companied "Mrs. Leonard Warr who sang ."The Wedding
Hymn" and "The Wedding Prayer". Del Schloendorf, uncle
of the bride, played the guitar and sang•"Wedding Bells"
and "You and Me".
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor -
length gown of white polyester crepe designed on the
Princess lines. The daisy trimmed hood accente&the high
neckline. For something old the bride wore a heirloorn
broach which was' her paternal grandmother's. She carried
a colorful bouquet of coral roses, baby's breath, tinted blue
carnations, wiiite'daisies, stephanotis and greenery.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Joyce McIver, of Goderich,
cousin of the groom. Cathy Mclvor of Goderich, the groom's
sister; Penny Crawford of Goderich, sister-inilaw of, the
bride; , and Marilee Billo of Kitchener, a cousin, were
bridesmaids.'
The girls were gowned 'identically in halter style dresses'
with matching floral capes. The matron of honor wore light,
blue and the bridesmaids were in coral. They wore white
flop hats trimmed with floral ribbon. Each carried a basket
of white daisies, blue baby's breath, coral tinted carnations
and white stephanotis.
Flowergirl Kim Crawford of Exeter, cousin of the bride,
wore a floor -length blue crepe Hobbie Holly styled dress
.with floral pinafore. She carried a miniature basket similar
to those carried by the senior attendants.
The groom was attended by James McIver of Goderich,'
cousin of the groom. Guests were ushered by James Vance,
Goderich, brother -in -law -to -be of the groom; Doug Fisher,
f3enmiller, friend of the groom; and Bruce Crawford
Goderich, brother of the bride.
The Saltford Valley Hall was decorated with ,long stem
coral carnations set up at the tables which decorated the
buffet supper. A' three -tiered wedding cake trimmed with
blue roses was offset by the candle arrangements that
surrounded it at the bride's table.
Guests from Wawa, Orono, Belleville, Kitchener, Strat-
ford, Wallaceburg, Sarnia, Chatham, Windsor, London,
Exeter, Collingwood, Hanover and, Godei;ich area helped
celebrate the special date.
For travelling to Eastern Ontario and to theUnited States,
the bride• chose a mint green- kne-e length dress styled, the
same as the bridemaids' dresses. She wore a purple orchid,
They are living in Goderich.
Prior to the wedding the bride was feted at a shower .held
by Marg Schloendorf and Jean Schram, aunts of the Bride;
J oyes McIver and Penny Crawford ;,,and the Bennetts.
A rehearsal party was held by Mr. and Mrs. L. Willis at the
home of Mr, and Mrs. Eric Fincher.
