The bride Was given in
marriage by her father. She
wore a white eyelet gown
featuring an empire waistline,
a high • neckline with self-
covered-- buttons to the waist,
and long full cuffed sleeves.
• Her floor -length veil fell from a
matching eyelet bow head-
dress. She carried a nosegay of
white daisies, yellow roses and
baby's breath. •
Maid of honor was Miss
Diane Ruggeri, Detroit,
Michigan, a cousin of the bride.
She wore" a pinafore style dress
• in orange and earth tones made
of striped and flowered cotton
voile. The dress had a square
neckline and ruffles over the
shoulders trimmed with beige
lace and a large ruffle at the
hemline. She wore an earth -
toned straw hat accented with
orange streamers and carried a
natural straw basket filled with
yellow daisies, orange , straw
flowers and baby's breath. .
The three bridesmaids were
gowned identically to the maid
of honor. They were Miss Jane
Hamilton, sister of the groom,
'Goderich; Miss • Alice
Doughtery, cousin of the bride,
Goderich; and Miss Debbie
Turner, friend of the' bride,
Goderich.
The groom and his attendants
wore pearl grey tuxedoes
" trimmed with ' darker grey

will officially open their season
this Sunday, June 1, with a six
mile and a three mile race.. The
long ..course ,has been laid put
for cruising boats andwill start
at 10 a.m.; the shorter laid .out
for the three other v classes of
craft is set begin ten minutes
later.
Several Sunday races have
already been sponsored by the
club to allow crews to' work the
kinks out of their winter layoff
and to tune their boats for the
season series.
Four classes have been
established for the • members
this years: Scoring will be kept
fol. Fireballs, Dinghies,
Cruising Keelboats and three

The bride's mother chose a
formal gownof light blue crepe
with long sleeves and a high
.neckline and a corsage of white.

mother selected a formal gown
of hot pink crepe,'with long full
sleeves and a mandarin
neckline with a corsage of
white carnations tinted pink.
. Wedding guests' were present
from Ottawa, Sarnia, Toronto, -
Kentucky, Shelbourne, Kit-
chener, and the 'surrounding
areas.
Mr: and Mrs. . Hamilton
honeymooned in Stratford:
Following the wedding the
bride changed to a pinafore
styled gown similar to the
gowns worn by 'the maid of
' honor and the bridesmaids: It
was of mauve and beige voile
and was worn with a dark
mauve orchid.

In Mrs. Carruther's kin-
dergarten class Juanita Little
brought some polywogs into the
classroom Tuesday morning
and the pupils thought they.
were very interesting. Also we
read a book about polywogs and
another ,book called Tim
Tadpole and the Great '
Bullfrog.
Jamie McLean brought a
butterfly in. on May 16th and
they talked' about different
kinds of butterflies.
- Mrs. Broullette's . grade five
class is going on a trip to the '
,Signal±star next week.
The grade five and six class
of Mr. Brook's • went on a two
,hour • hike on Thursday af-
ternoon to Jenkin's Bush. (no
one got lost this time.) On the
way back they stopped at the
airport and saw the guns arid
planes.
Last week in Mr. Kemp's
class Tom Harmon sold his rats
last Friday morning. Sergeant
Mery Witter visited. Rm. 107
and talked to us about drugs,
guns, theft and bic 'cies and
other interesting topics. Qur
class also wrote news reports,
on his visit.

A FRIENDLY VISIT

Police Sergeant Mery Witter
visited Rm 107 of Robertson
Memorial Public -School during
the morning of May 16th. Since
this 'is National Police Week it
was quite appropriate and
something extra that Goderich
Police officers took, part in. Mr.
Witter chose interesting sub-
jects such as bylaws; bike
riding, smoking' and murder, to
lead up to ,the highlight
"drugs.” The children were
interested not to, mention the
leachers. , Outsta.n°ding
questions were brought out at
the end. It was obvious
everyone enjoyed the visit of
the sergeant.
Last week the grade eights
went to Toronto and visited the
Royal Ontario Museum, the
Planitarium, Queens Park and
toured the Parliament
Buildings.
