met in Bayfield' Arena on
Saturday afternoon for an hour
of ice fun.
It has been reported that the
adult reCreation group invited a
group into the Holmesville
School Auditorium last Wed-
nesday • "evening and the
challenge was on. Although the •
adult township recreation
-group won, the guests

their husbands and wiVes) had
a very enjoyable evening.
The Arts and Crafts group is
very busy.appliqueing a pansy
quilt top; next will be the

Beginners are most welcome
as the ladies who know how to

preciation of Tarm-fresh
quality, more people are tur-
ning to local roadside markets
for fruits and vegetables.
This booni in popularity has
attracted more people into
roadside marketing and,
leaders in _the coadSide market
business felt a need to set
standards of quality to protect
their good image. •Con-
sequently, they organized the
Qntario Farm Fresh Marketing
Association, to certify -roadside
markets `"'which apply for
membership. ,
To qualify, a , roadside
marketer must be a legitimate
,farm. 1 -le must grow at least
50 'percent of a major product
sold at that market. The
product must be displayed in a
neat, clean permanent market
and <lproduce must meet the
• .
high grade standards set by the
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture
and Food.
Markets accepted for
men-pel-ship carry the Ontario,
Farm 'Presh Marketing
Association sign. So next
summer when looking for a
roadside rnarket,iwatch for the
sign that shows a boy and girl
holding a basket of fruit, It is
your assurance that it is a
market operated by a farmer
dealing in top quality produce.

Taylor brought up the business
of the annual banquet and plans
were made to hold it in'May.
Education and Cultural
Activities were the topic of the
afternoon and Mrs. Wilfred
Sanderson introduced Donald
Kenwell, . superintendent ,of
Education ituHuron County.
In his informative 'address,
he told the members how
education in the' schools is
being taught • to meet the
demands of- the age. He told '
about the special edUcation
available now for the slim
learners.
Mrs. Thornas Lawlor thanked
Mr. Kenwell and presented him
with a gift. „
A solo, Winter Wonderland,
was sung ,by Mrs. Eleanor.
Bradnock accompanied by
Mrs. Donald Haines. While the
song . was being sung, Mrs.
Oliver Anderson showed winter
scenes on the screen.
, The—motto, When we stop
listening we stop.learning, was
given by Mrs. Oliver Anderson.
The roll call was answered by
showing a piece of needlework ,
and telling its history. Brporn
stick lace, crochet work and
needlepoint pictures were
among the items shown.
The collection was received
by Mrs. Gordon Powell.
Lunch was served by Mrs,
Oliver Anderson; Mrs. Kenneth
McDougall and Mrs. Arnold ,
Craig. Prize for most letters in
their name went to Mrs.
Wilfred Sanderson and the
prize for receiving the most
valentines went 'to Mrs..
