The Goderich Signal-Star, 1975-02-13, Page 15MRS. FRANK McCHARLES Mrs. Daisy McCharles passed away on Wednesday, January 29 1975 at Huron - view ; :Clinton in her 89th year. Mrs. McCharles, the former Daisy Mae Barkwell, was born in Kinloss Town- ship, March 29, 1886, the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Barkwell, who with their family later moved to Ashfield Township, to the farm now owned by Mr: and Mrs. Teddy Van- ' derveld later again to the Ewan MacLear"r farm and finally to the farm next door to where ' she spent her married life. . She was - married in December 1910 to the late Frank Jas. McCharles who predeceased her in •Sep- tember 1927. Mrs. McCharles and her young son Oliver . carried on the, farming until Oliver married •in 1934, and continued to live with Mr. and Mrs. Oliver McCharles and their family for 33 years. After suffering two broken hips and several illnesses, it became necessary for her to resort to a wheel chair, and finally in October 1967 to enter Huronview• as a resident, where she liVed a • bright, .busy, and' enjoyable seven and a half years; Mrs. McCharles a meber of Si.
