. UP, UP, AND AWAY
One heart breaking day at
the north pole all the swift and
slow reindeg went on strike.
They forme' a reindeer 'line.
Santa tried to reason with
them, but he got no where. He
had to think of another' way to
get to all the children's houses.
He thought and thought', If he
didn't think of something
quick, the poem about him
would go: -rwas the .night
before Christmas and all
throughAthe house, not a
creature was stirring. not even a
mouse. The children lay fast
asleep and fare, but Santa
Clause was not there, or
anywhere. Santa thought of an
idea, he would put airplane's
wings on his sleigh. He finally
got finished putting. them on.
Then up. up and away he flew.
He dropped off all his presents
at the houses. On his way back
home he ran out of gas. He
stopped at "Sam the service
station man's gasoline depar-
tement." He filled the sleigh up
and since he had no money
.with him, he left him a teddy
bear. On he flew. He finally
reached the north pole. He
went in his house. All the rein-
deer apologized, and they had a
merry Christmas. ,I hope you
have one too!

THE CHRISTMAS SANTA
CLAUS ALMOST DIDN'T
COME
It was 1965 Dec. 22, and the
children that year had been
had, at least thats what it said
on Santa's lipt. Santa made a
letter to every girl' and boy,
saying that they hadn't been
good that year so he wasn't
going to come. The boys‘,4and
girl! were sad. The boys and
girls were ashamed of them
selves too. The next day,,,a boy
and girl got a letter'from Santa.
They showed it to theirmother.
They opened it up and read if.
They agreed that their must
have been a mistake. The little
girl's name is Julie, the little
Imiy's name 'is Bobby. Their
mother thought" that they had.
been very good that year.
13obb,v said: "I've got an idea
why don't, we write a letter.
hack saying that we thought we
had been -good this year."
Mother said: "Good idea we
will write it tomorrow because
I have a lot . of work to do
today." •
The next day they wrote the
letter and mailed it. Santa got
the letter 'the 'next day. That
night it was Ch.ristrrias. The
next day their Christmas
presents were Lunder the tree
and a note on die table, it said:
I think you were right. If you'go
around the world now you
would see that ev@ry'pther boy
and girl would have presents
too.

WHAT A NIGHT
It was the night before
Christmas I was going with
Santa Claus instead of Mrs.
Santa Claus. To begin the night
off it was a real blizztird
Then we went to get the rein -
deer they were late getting hit-'ched up. We got everything
ready when. we could not get
into the air because Santa had
ate to much through out the
year. I had to go and get twelve
more reindeers so we could get
off the ground. Later that night
Rudolph's -nose blew out" an'
was stuck. So we had to put a'
red nose bulb on Dancer, did he
dance .with it on too! At about
the sixth house Santa gave a
girl a GI Jo instead of a doll by
mistake. Later in the second
last:place he fell off the roof! Of
"ZouyseSanta went down the
chininey and a fire was on ah -d ,
he got his -suit all burnt. The
only thing left on him was. his
long johns. He left right away
and flew home. to top the
night off when Santa got home
he had went from 500 - 600
pounds in one night. What a
night!
