Mrs. M. E. Daer' of the ('lin-
ton Bell Canada office, said ,
that her family, celebrated
Christmas a few weeks early
this year., to enable her to work
the 9:00' a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift

"It was the only other time
we could get the family
together," she said.
Mrs. Daer has worked for
Bell for 16 years, two of those
years in Goderich, and has had,
Christmas off only twice-.
Though she doesn't really en-
joy working on Christmas. she
said it's something' that must
be done.
She' is one of six women who
will work Christmas •at the
Clinton office, which serves the
area from Goderich to Seaforth
and- Zurich to Brussels. There
'are nine full-time and four
part-time operators here.
Mrs. L. M' McCann of ('lin-
ton is another operator who
will work a shift Christmas.

have to do,". Mrs.. McCann
said. "Somebody has to work,

Mrs. McCann said, it would
delay Christmas -festivities - for
her family, until after work.
"You' can't plan on doing
anything or • travelling, on
Christmas," she noted.
'We' all take turns now, or
some volunteer to work Christ-
mas," said Mrs: M. C. Willis of
Clinton. "I've worked for, years
every Christman and I've kind
of gotten used to it."
She has been an operator in
.Seaforth. Goderich and Clint&
for 25 years. ,
"I don't Mind it really," she
said.

who have had -their Christ
mases rearranged are Mrs. J
E. Fowler of Goderich, Mrs. A

J. Chowen of Clinton.
Mrs. M. E. Doer's Christmas is over
