As a past Chairman of Goderich Public Utilities
Commission for a five year duration, I solicit ,your
vote on December 2 for another term 'of office. 1
mentioned in last weeks issue of the Signal Star
that this coming year could well be a very impor-
tant one for us as we maybe dealing with a•partial
take over by the Government of our Utility Resour-
ces. This is not verified, but it, certainly is a
possibility in view of the fact it has happened in
many other Municipalities. •
Regionallzatlon of Utilities generally occurs
where there.' is vast differences ,of opinions bet-
ween Commissioners, they In turn ask for help
from° Government Authoritles,Athus the take over
of the operations of Utilities takes place.
We in Goderich do not have this situation,,,we
do hope that there is no change in the future,
however, we do have to be prepared for change
should circumstances occur. •
Our Utility is fortunate in having a new 110.000
Volt Station opened in 1968 as -well as a new water
treatment plant opened in 1963. •
Our rates are the lowest inDistrict No. 6 of the'
Ontario Municipal Electric. Association and, we
want to keep the rates this way.
'Having 21 years past experience 1 solicit your
'vote on 'Dec. 2.
