visits Goderich club

Governor of the Lions Club, for
district A-9, told the Lions that
eac,i member is a tiny
flashlight bulb, who is put into
a flashlight, (the Lions Club),
hooked up to a power pack (the
directors)' and then turned on -
by the club president.
The club, he said, is made up
of ordinary wattage (members;
from all classes). "We have
professionals,engineers, and
the working man,"

was in Goderich last week, to speak at the Goderich Lions

"The worst kind of light bulb
is the flaslygube," ,°Mr. Murray
said. "He lights up the room
once. He does one thing once,
better than anyone else, 'and
then he's dead."
He encouraged the Lions to
be tri -lite lamps, thinking, ac-
ting, working and talking •for
the.'club, and to live up to their
motto, "we serve".
Mr. Murray is much in
demand as a speaker, It was his
60th guest appearance since
Labor Day. His district, A-9,
has 2,097 members. It covers
the area from Thamesford to
Tobermory, and Galt to
Goderich.

eighth with. the United States.

second and Brazil third.
Others on the Canadian team
were Dave Roxborough, Van-
couver; Bruce Brewer, Toronto
and Pierre Archambault; Mon-'
treal.
"It was a great experience,"
Mr. Doig• related even though
many of the golfers suffered
from the heat and mild dysen-
try. -
He said a. thousand natives
are employed on the course ear-
ning 25 cents per hour and 35
cents if good. They sleep
around under trees.
`Presently, there are ,Lions
Clubs in 149' countries, and
over 27,000 clubs, with
1,068,727 members.
