and Grant 'Shelton. Shelton
picked up another assist along
with Kevin Meriam after 'they
set up Lee Arbour to double the
Goderich lead.
Arbour picked up two more

Port Elgin narrowed the lead
to three goals rate in the first
period but could not stop the
-Goderich offence. Kim Arbour

Stirling when he announced his
intentiOn to seek election for
deputy -reeve of Goderich
Township. Mr. Stirling handed
in his nomination papers at the
township's annual ratepayers'
meeting on Monday night and
will vie for the post with former
councillor Wayne porner.
The decision to 'force an elec-
tiorrin the township wasznade
by Mr. Stirling immediately*f-
ter Don McKee announced his
nornination' for school board
"We have never had an elec-
tion for • deputy -reeve iin the,
th-wnship before," said Mr.
Stirling, "and "since there will
be an election for council and
school boardi decided to run."
The former reeve of the
township'has not been in Oublic
office 'since he lost the 1968
election to Everett MacIlwain.
"I've been voted in and I've
been voted out"; he said.
Mr. Stirling feels that there
are too many ,members on the
county council and descrihes
the elected,' body as unwieldy
and is seeking another. He
very important pr0ject to rho
township. but did not decide to
run for council 00 that basis, A
desire to see the project advan-
ced is' one of the priorities Mr.
Wright has- indicated the new
council must face.

not available for comment 'at
press time,
