Saturday morning and continues through until the grand champianahip game Monday night. In the .. A Division the ` first game gets underway at 9:30 Saturday morning when Jerry's Canteen from Kitchener play Nile. At 11:00 the Stratford Memorials will play Walker- ville.and at' 12:30 Toronto will ` play Sarnia Happy Valley. In the afternoon East Lon- don Sports .will play Chepston , at 2:00 and at 3:30 Windsor will play the Kitchener Evergreens. In the first A night game the Petrolia `Squires will play Glen- coe at. 8:00 followed, by the Burlington-Arva game at 9:30. The last first round game will be played Sunday morning at 10:30 when Sarnia Barnes Gravel play O.W. Sports of Kit- chener. The second round of the A division starts at 1:30 when the winners of the first'• two games meet, The winners of the third and fourth games will play at 4:30 and the winners of the' J fifth and sixth• games will start A' at. 7:30• The winners of the final- two games will play on • Monday morning at• 8:30. New record charted at track Derby's Gent put his un- defeated record on the Jibe last .Friday night at Goderich Raceway in the $2,000 W.J. .Hughes Pace and; retained his status, setting records`al°ong the way. The tenth race at Goderich was the main attraction on race night with an original five horse card reduced to three en- tries by post timer The favorite, Derby's Gent' owned by W. Cadman, with a perfect fourteen for, fourteen record was. challenged by Piper Wall, owned by Dave. Wall,. and Mr. Peter Ray owned by Peter Harrison and Ray McLain. The other two horses scratched' were Scott's Topic, owned by Bert Madil and Romeo Lobel', owned by Mac Galbraith. At post time the record crowd, of 2,150 people had selected Derby°s Gent as, the favorite with the other °-two_'en, tries going at surprisingly low odds. Derby's Gent's first move in the second half brought the crowd to its feet but Piper Wall closed the .gap at the three quarter pole and couldn't over- . • take the Parkhill gelding finishing', dead .op his heels. Mr. Peter Ray broke at the three, quarter pole, and was out of the. competition. ;Three' records were surpal'ssed at Friday t'irgh =s; action. The record crowd 'of 2,160 combined to set a new betting record -for the Goderich Raceway, $55,600, surpassing the old high of ;'$46,000. • BRIAN JOSEPH LEDDY The Mass of the Angels was 'sung' by Monsignor L. Phelan oh;~ ,Sa•tu'rday morning, August 17th for Brian Joseph Leddy in St ' Augustine Roman Catholic Church'; St. Augustine. • The church, which vXas' decorated' with' summer flowers was filled to capacity including the choir - balcony. They came to pay their, last respects to a littleAboy who had only lived_ a few short years. The children with their teachers of St. Josephs School Kingbridge where Brian had attended stood as Honour Guards 6n each side of the church steps, Prayers were said during Mass and ,at the little grave side by Rev, Father E. Den- tinger, ' pastor of Kingsbridge Parish. The organist was Genevieve Kinahan, cousin. Miss Nancy Anderson, Brian's former, teacher • sang "He Cometh" and Jesus Loves Me".. The choir also sang "Hear Oh Lord" acid "Pray to St. 'Francis" Janet and Margaret Foran, special friends of little,Brian were the Readers . Those who carried the white flower decked coffin to its final resting place were Raymond Leddy,Kitchener, Larry Carter Ripley; Patrick Boyle and James Foran, a special friend.
