Her son Thomas' and his wife, Formelda arranged for the relatives and friends to come and,see Mrs. Hamilton Her daughter-in-law pinned a loyely rose corsage on her. Bouquets -of roses adorned the • room, There was. also a large decorated birthday cake' with candles, Lunch was, served by the grandchildrenand theys. were also in charge ofthe guest , book. Mrs. Hamilton's brother, Lorne Wilson of Brucefield and her sister Mrs. Arthur (Marian) 'Rutledge of EEgmondville were both present. MrS. Hamilton has one son Thomas of Goderich, seven grandchildren, 19 great grand- children and one great -great ' grandchild. • Mrs:' Hamilton was the ford'' mer Isabe'lle'Wilson and was born at Auburn. She attended U.S.S. No., 5 Hullett. At the 'turn of the century she went to ::the Yukon after she married George Hamilton and She tells ' thrilling experiences of the gold rush days around Old Crow in that northern country. Mrs. Hamilton used to love to relate many of .her adventures and could hold h,er "atidiences for . several hours' listening to her. In 1910 the couple returned with their small son Thomas and took up farming until flit)/ retired to Auburn. • Mrs. Hamilton is a member of St: Mark's Anglican Church, . • Aubu'rn, and also had been a member of -the Guild for many years. She is a charter member nf, the Auburn Women's - In- situte. Many relatives and friends called during the after- noon'to wish'her a -'happy birth- day. The Ladies enjoyed a feast of corn last week, and had fun at a two -ball match; -The Ri►sebowl tournament is Sailing race this Saturday . The Dominion Rc ads,sailing race it; scheduled for Saturday, 1t1 a.m. over a 25 mile course, the Goderich Sailing 'Club reports. • The race Marts north of the break 'ails around a triangular course with three five mile legs. There will be five mile Wind- ward°and leeward legs also. The finish line will be at the• north pier. The sailing club gxpets boats from Grand Bend and Bayfield will' compete irk, the race as well . as the Goderich keel boatfleet. - Last Saturday, weekly club races started at 10:30 a.m. The wind was light 'at eight -knots. In keelboats, George Robert- son's Anore finished first with 142.05, corrected to 135.22 and took first place by ten seconds from second place finisher, Jack Marriott'sIrish Rover, which finished in 154.40, correc- ted to 135,32, ' Fourth boat ',across was Checkmate, with John Kane .and Barry Deathe on board, 'in 157.40, corrected to 138.32,, for third place. In the-Fireball''division, Paul Parsons 'was" first, Geoff Langord second and 'Dave .Gleba third. • 'Mike Watts' completed the trianguPar course with the fastest time, but he was disqualified foie being three feet over the starting line when the race began.. . • In the dinghies division, John Watson in his Banshee finished ' second to ;• 'Jim Mulhern's Platypus but won .,first place in the handicap. Jim's actual time was 82.55, corrected to 89.2 and John's was 83.40, corrected to 81.5. The low net for the field was won- by our own Jean Knight. Maxine Martin won the second low gross in 'he First Flight. Hazel Beaver "won the Second 'Low Gross in Seeond Flight. In the third flight, Verna Kane won the •2nd, Low Gross. Doris and Stan Paquette were the big winners of the Mixed two -ball event last Saturday.
