With the arrival of the
weekend therg was indeed, an
improvement in the weather.
After such a delugeThursday
and Friday, we were pleased•to
have such a tremendous turn
out for our Opening Anniver-
sary Party on Saturday, May
18th. Actually we were
pleasantly- surprised that so
many golfers showed up for the
shot -gun start. •
'the men teed off at 9:00 a.m.
and appeared very enthusiastic,
rather surprising so early in the
morning. The women, and
somg men teed off again at 1:00
p.m. They were not to be -out-
done bY their male counter-
parts; they showed, that they
were just as adamant about
playing golf on a beautiful day.
Some talked about the water
and the fact that their shoes
were soaked, but most were just
satisfied that the sun was
shining and that they had an
Opportunity tO begin what
shoold -be a great season.
Lowest score for the day was
Bruce Lyndon shooting an
eighty three for an eighteer
Other.winners,were Don Fuller,
Stan Telford, George Bolton,
'Mike Drennan, 'Clark
Chisholm, George- Williams,
Bob Brindlev, ,,Albert Middel,
Rov Telford, Cliff Kennedy,
Marcel Richards, and Harry
Williams.;
Lowest score for the ladies
was Joyce Bolton. Other win-
ners for the day were Karen
Scott, Isobel MacDonald, Marg
Smith, Daphne Matins,
Theresa Hodge, Velma • Cam-.
,pion, Mariette Chisholm, Betty-
' Ried, Willa Williams, Mary
Lynne Telford. .Betty Westlake
and Betts. Fuller, .
After thelifizes were handed
out, it was time to eat, and we.
hope that everyone enjoyed the
buffet dinner and the dance
which followed. Many thanks
to Brian Elmslie of C.K.N.X.
who provide entertainment, as
well as music. Thanks,.also to
you, the golfers, for your avid
support early -in the season.
The weather has clearecrand
the grass is greening, so now is
the time to start playing golf, if
you have never Played, or to
continue playingr -if you are
already a golf enthusiast.
Hope to see you more in '74.
