Festival '74 hit the baacds
with'a bang - and I'm not kid-
ding.
There's nothing quite like the
heavy foot in the Mexican Hat
' Dance to make you sit up and
take notice, -
Again this show was heady
with talent and I think it is too
bad that we cannot enjoy it of-
tener,. Seeing the many pictures,
of the show in this issue will
help you recall - with pleasure -
the many fine performances.
The Don McMillan' family
once again really -thrilled the
audience •4- and right here I
want to say I `think they're
r, JUST" GREAT.
It was plain to see the hours
and hours that went into the
making of the costumes. Once
they're designed and construc-
ted a great deal of time is spent
•
on thJ sewing. One husband
whose wife, had spent mann.
hours >tL the sewing marhinet,
said, "I didn't mind the piles of
material all over the place and
the rest of the. confusion but
just when -I'd get a decent hand
ins poker she'd' make me stand
yup fo tri on one of the dank*
costumes," -
Everyone seems to 'have
taken something special out of
The -singing and dancing and•
each had- a bit of .talk on
changes that -Could have been
•made. etc., etc.
This is the njce part of wat-
ching such a performance -
vou can ,always figure out
something YOU would have
done, something You would_
" change or 'delete • and some of
these things would surprise you
-if you ,had the =opportunity to
make YOUR changes. Anyway:,

-thank her for having the
courage and stamina to create
such a great show. My hat is off
to all of them, anct thanks a lot.
The weekend was dull and
rainy and COLD! Seems aTost
evervone slept it away (except
for those dyed -in -wool hockey
and ball fans
This morning I passed, a• u
couple of fat red robins who,,
looked possitively dejected. One
of them was stancj`ing in a pud-
dle at the edge"of the road, his.
-should,ers hunt>hed and looking
pretty 'woe -begone. In fact got
the impression he was trying to
hitch -hike a ride back to
Florida.
