Andrew Ross designed an airplane which we have hanging ' from a wire across' the room. Since we are studying frac- tions we viewed the film "What "are Fractions?" and hopefully • this is going`to help us in our understanding of them. Last Wednesday there' was Open House for the parents to come and see e their child n's work. Mrs. Freeman's primary choir sang "Uncle Remis's" -story about Brair Rabbit and Brair Fox. John Peters was the soloist in the songs. Mrs' Brown's' drama club also "put on a play •called •Antics of Spring. Mr. Bogie assembled a very good display of grade eight science projects. The projects were very well done and Mr. Bogieshould be proud of t The grade seven projects displayed in Mr, Hartley's room. We had a very good turn out this year and hope all the parents. enjoyed it. ' Mr. Harland organized a roller-skating partyfor the grade seven •and eights on Mon- day, April 27. The students who wanted to skate went to. the arena at three 'o'clot'k and most of the students stayed un- til five o'clock: We would like on tthank Mr. Harland for arranging : the roller-skating party. Last Tuesday the _ teachers. took a 'turn in class while the students had a holiday, It was professional development day at Central Secondary. School in Clinton. It was sponsored by the Huron—County Board of Education, The day -long New pro name by skaters session involved twenty-six discussion groups ranging from conversion to the metric system to book selection and censor- ship. The students enjoyed' this holiday very much but we have not heard how the teachers en- joyed it. • Ori May 8i the grade eight students went on a trip to Toronto to visit the Royal On- tario Museum and', 'the Planetarium. Three buses left Goderich at seven a.m. carrying the grade eight students of our school. The students were supervised by the grade eight teachers and we hope that they did not causeThem too much trouble.
