stitute meeting which was
changed from April 25 due to
Brookside School concert was
held Tuesday, April 30 at the
home ,of Mrs. Graham McNee.
.Mrs. Harvey Alton presided
and the new secretary-
,- treasurer, Mrs. Harry Girvin,
recorded the minutes.
Consumer Affairs was the ,
theme of the meeting and the
roll call, "Grandm'other's
Home -Remedy" was answered ..
by 19 members. The motto, "A
lot of good could be done in the
world if no one cared who got
the credit" was well given by
Mrs. Gordon Kerr.
The topic in charge of Mrs.
Hugh, McWhinnev, was on
"So cal.,'Work and Aid to
Children'' given by Mr. Pat
Shanahan of Goderich who was
guest speaker.
Donations to theCancer
Society in the area amounted to
$200.
Delegates were chosen to at-
tend the District Annual at
Belgrave on Monday, May 27.
An invitation was received to
attend Tiger -Dunlop W.I. " at
Carlow on May 22 at, 2:00
o'clock.
Courtesies were given, and
the meeting closed, followed by
lunch served by hostesses, Mrs.
H. McWhinney, Mrs. G., Kerr,
and Mrs. Elmer Black.

McGregor reported for the
Craft Room.

detailed accounting of the

contribute three loaves of sand-
.wiches and three batches of
squares or cookies„ for the Tea
and .the Auxiliary members are
to supply items for the Bake
Sale. The Institutes are also"
asked to prepare and display at
least one poster in each -town or
village.

by Mrs. Harvey .Johnston, the
president closed the meeting
with the Mizpah benediction.

Officers have been named to
spearhead the restoration and
utilization of the' former Huron
County Jail . Chairman for
the coming year is Paul,,.
Carroll; vice-chairman is Mrs.
Dorothy Wallace; secretary is
Mrs. Elsa Haydon, -and
-treasurer is Ed Oddleifson.
The people were chosen
;from eight concerned citizens
who serve'. on the Huron
Historic Jail Board with three
county council appointees .and-'
one town councillor. The Mem-
bersare dedicated, sacrificing
representatives from diffellent
parts of the county.

things are progressing.
