• The Easter 'Thankoffering
meeting of the _ Arthur Circle
was held April 15 in the
Church Parlour.
The meeting opened; with
president, Agnes Cutt,• reading
a poem „called The° Legend of
the Raindrop.
'Glenda Salter read several
passages of 'scripture ap-
propriate to the Easter season.
Prayer was offered by Mary
Wray.
Several items of business
weredealt with.
Tho offering was received 'bv
Florence Boyce and Evelyn
Sandy and was dedicated by
Sadie•Gilders.
A duet was sung by Gertrude
Kaitting and. Mary Henderson.
They were accompanied by
Mollie ,Manz.
Dorothy ,Reid introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. Jane
Davidson of Brucefield; who
presented a fascinating account
of her experiences in India,
Jane's talk to the members was
supported by slides she had
taken and. Indian items she had
brought home with her.
Jane, who is a widow, took
her five children ,,widow,
and went to
India on her own to try to help
with the work her husband had
started in 1969. -

Lodge No. 39 held its regular
meeting last week. Noble
Grand Elva Osbaldeston
presided.
The highlight was the D.D.P.
Mary Grigg of Clinton making
her official visit accompanied
by members. of Huronic Lodge
No. 306 of Minton as •well as
. members,'_of the BrusserrMor-
ning Star Lodge No. 315.
During business, a motion
passed to purchase two tickets
for the 'Rebekah assembly
banquet taking place at, the
Royal York Hotel in June.
• D.D.P. Mary gave a little talk
on -the History and origin of the
Lodge and. the three -links.
Following the ' meeting a
.- social time took place. Card
games .were played and 'a draw
on an apron made by Frenda.
Gibson was won by Mrs. Olive
Ball of Clinton. •She: also. won.
the prize for being the newest
member of . the Huronic
'Rebekah Lodge .No. 306.
The person having'the birth-
day nearest to the meeting date
was Mrs: „Irene Cudmore of
Holm•esville. N,G. ,Elva
Osbaldeston won the lucky cup
prize. •
• Sixty members attended,
'Lunch was convened by Ruby
Matthews and her committee.

Rdro seeks opinions
4 Hundreds of phone 'calls to Goderich and area residents .were
made last week from these four temporary phones installed at
the Goderich PUC boardroom. The four girls making the calls
are from the -Toronto office of Ontario Htdro 'and Were in
Goderich on April 18, 19 and 20 conducting a telephone sur -
vey on attitudes toward the proposed generating sta0on in
Goderich. The four girls are Karen Condie, front left and
Glenys Biggar, rear, Cathy Searle front right and Lesley,.O'Neil.

' Manitoba. Baby Mark is the
son of Cpl. and Mrs. Jerry An-
derson of Amaranth. Corporal
Anderson has been posted to
Kenora, Ontario, and will be
transferring there shortly to
- take over the R.C.M.P. Detach- -
ment covering the Lake of the
Woods area. V
