The authority tries to make
the Maitland watershed region
a bettercg in which to 'live.
Its progra s in.Glude promoting
proper land use; managing
forests and r -forestation;
preventing floods and erosion;
improving stream courses;
creaking wildlife populations;
establishing outdoor recreation
.areas; and generally educating
the public about conservation,
The Authority' began these
proms as the Middle
Matt And Conservation
Authority September 6, 1951 by
,anOrder-in-Council .of the On-
tario government's cabinet.
After 10"years, the Authority
expanded to include the entire
--watershed of the Maitland
River, except Goderich.
Goderich joined the MVCA

Authority officials hope to

Goderich audiences , a fact

I: can not . entirely blame
those " atten.ding for their
response however.. The very
title of the play is misleading
and the lead role •of Beatrice
was played by Kathy Jenkins, a
local, actress well known -for her -
comic portrayals.'
It •is "unfortunate that .Mrs.
Jenkins has become Stereo

Mrs,. M•arksdn is one of the
real dramatic corner stones on
which, the Goderich 'Little
Theater is builtand she proved
this irrevocably in this rost-

the .assistance of dialog. .
',The play in ',general, however;
suffered ,somewhaf from the

problem not easily overcome by

of sets and flats was well offset
by some of 'the, most ', effective
