Being Ontario's premier
farm equipment show, is easy
when.. over -135 exhibitors will
'`'''occttpy 160,000 square feet of
floor space, bringing together a
kaleidoacppe of modern farm
equipment. and machinery, as
well as hundreds of up-to-date
goods and products, for the
farm housewife.
A special theatre hfas been
planned for tlle'secQnd 'floor to
seat 600 persons. The theatre
programs include new
educational exhibits featuring
timely topics such, as:'Energy
and- Its Implica-tions •on.
Agriculture "Selling Crops.
versus - „Livestock:'; "The
Markets and You" ,and
"Federal" Farm Policies". •
With more than 32,000•
'people attending the show last
year and the increase in 'ac-
tivitiies, 'a special information
booth has been designed and
will be set` up to direct the
Farm Show visitors to their.
particular . area of interest.
Another -attraction for : the
1974 *Farm Show will be the
Top of' the Fair bining Lounge
for dining pleasure. This
luxurious restaurant is located
on'•the third floor of the grand-
stand.
The show concludes 'at 4:30
p.m. on. Friday.
Admission is $1.00.
At the. Special Winter Olympics held February 16 by the Faculty of Physical Education at the
University of Western Ontario, 'pupils from, Queen Elizabeth School, in Goderich won 15
medals. Winners were: (back, row, left to right) Debbie Nice, Rick Bender, Dorinda. Tebow,
and Simeon Steckle; (front row,left to right) ..Linda Reid, .Paul Tebow and William Mitchell,
Darcy Dosch and Ken Blanchard also won medals in team events. Each pupil was paired
with a chaperone at the Special Olympics. Altogether, 14 students;. eight years old and up,

very smoothly thanks to.they
combined efforts of many mem-
bers. This event has been men-
tioned here 'previously and ab

ded;, Of :the siiteen rinks in
volved,, -one club emerged th`e
winner and this year it, was
Brussels, Our girls put up a
,good fight but didn't quite
make ' it, tin the finals., Better
'luck next year. To all the ,mem-
bers who helped with this
rather large undertaking, a
vote of thanksis due.

On February 16, three
Goderich rinks went<, t�
Seaforth. Bernice Moorewon
first .,place in cher' draw and a
rink jointly skipped by Maxine
Martin and` Bev Wright won
their draw and the'trophy for
-the day. Good curling girls.
Again, on February 20, , two ,
'rinks -ventured forth-to-Kinear-
dine.. This time' Bernice Moore
came first in her draw. You're
trying to tell us something Ber-
nice!
One of the , big events of the
year in men's curling : was the
Sifto Salt bonspiel held at
Maitland on February 23rd.
. -iThis competition comprised of
'sixteen rinks with twelve 'from'
outside clubs. The .areas
represented , were„ Exeter, Owen
,Sound, Luclanow,1'Listowel,„
Kincardine, , Burlington, it=
chell, Teeswater, Ilderton,
- Ripley and Southampton. The -
big winners df the day were as
follows; 9 a.m. draw First
place went 'to Ray Kester of
Kincardine, 2nd was Bill
Robertson of Goderich and 3rd
went to Cam .Bogie also of
Goderich. 11 a.m. draw - Ian
Grant, Teeswater, first place,
Howard Ribey, Southampton,
placed second and B. Darcy of
Kincardine came in third.
Somehow that dome's out soun-
ding like a "horsez, race!,
• However, congratulations to all
the winners, and niuch ap-
precintjion to Sifto for their sup-
port. Speaking of support, those
meat tithes will surely help the
Mood budgets of the lucky win-
ners.
Now for things to come.
March 2 is • the date of the
men's bonspiel Which is restric-
ted, to farmers. There should be
no difficulty in filling the draws
for this as the farmers (and
their wives) are among our
keenest curlers.
March 14 is the 'date selected
for a final ladies' Jitney of the
yeah.. The regular Thursday
game for that night will be .ad-
dtd to the end of the draw.
Watch for the poster and sign µ
up 'early if interested as these
events seem to be very popular.
Finally; on March 15 and 16
is the St:. Patrick's Mixed Bon -
spiel. This was a great success
tae,.:year inespite .of, the,- foule

have all the spaces filled but it
doesn't hurt to check if you are
ipterested in this 'spiel.
