governments should be allowed
to establish their own spending
priorities and that Provincial
grants should`1i "decon-
ditionalized".
Speaking at the Region
Association Leaders' 'dinner in
the Legion Hall last night Mr.
Nixon ,said in 95 per cent of
Provincial - grants to
municipalities there are con-
ditions on funds being used for
a specific purpose and he said
these ,strings should not be at-
tached. strings.
In what was considered 'a
general policy...tateinent Mr.
Nixon. - gave Ontario ;Liberal
Party views -on a Wide range of.
subjects including cost of living,
housing, land use, the statuS,.of
women, family law, health and
education.
