Speaking for the Ways and
Means committee; Mrs. Bryan
Ainslie announced May 1 as
the date for. the; Spring lun-
cheon. The guest speaker will
be Martie Roe, former women's
.editor of the London Free
Press.

New park

The public will get a new pic-
nic area and park with a--600'
` foot beach as a result of action
recently by the Stanley .'Town=
ship council. .
The council gave official ap-
proval at their regular meeting
to a plan to develop five acres
of 'land the' township .owns
along the shore of -Lake Huron,
just south of Bayfield. In-
cluded in° the plans is a 28. foot
by 40 foot picnic pavilion with
,changing facilities; washrooms
and a covered picnic area.
The township has owned the
land, for about four years arid'
will finance the $8,000 cost of
the pavilion • from their park
fund which has been built,up in
recent years by subdividers who
must give the township five per
cent of, the land or an equal
amount of money when a new
stbdivisipn, agreement is
passed:
The park may be, ready for
use this summer and . adds
