. • • P*GE-t'ODEIICJ 'SlgNM. -$TAR, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY . 1, 1974 After making 'allegations against the Goderich recreation board and arena management, the Goderich Minor Hockey Association faces a showdown with those parties Thursday at the regular town council meeting. • The GMHA passed a resolution at its • meeting on February 13 which was presen- ted to council for consideration. 'at its regular meeting last Thursday. Dr. Jim Peters, who presen- ted the -resolution, told council that the resolution mainly was concerned with facilities and management of the arena. ,: Two points of the resolution dealt vyith iii time allotted to minor .hockey games. "There is a continuous state of turmoil between the GMHA,, the Arena Management and; - -., ,-the Recreation ''Board,'" the. resolution stated. "Exasperating situa.tions, • have arisen thisand past years due to arbitary Changes in arena ice -time" and the poor timing of maintenance and im- provement,"-- it further stated. In an interview ,with the," Signal -Star on Monday, Dr, Peters was more specific about the..charges. • - On Tuesday, March' -"5, -the Goderich Figure Skating Club is holding its annual ice car: nival, beginning at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Peters said.
