The "green building" at the
harbor' is proving to be of in-
terest to council these days.
Councillor Bill Clifford,
chairman of the Harbor Com-
mittee, told council last Thur-
sday he would like to have "the
building taken down" and in-
dicated that "something– to
replace- it '°watriti be suggested'
in the near future.
The building, according to
Clifford; is in a state of
disrepair and since it is located
on town property, it is believed
the most favorable course of ac-,,
tion is to remove it.
Stother's General -Store has

The. G.D.C.I.
has been active
weekly debates of the Huron
County Debating Club. Last
Tuesday, Goderich hosted
Seaforth District Secondary
School. Although our debating
tearns were not victorious, 1
was impressed with their
arguments. The topic being
debated concerned the
abolition of examinations in
Huron County Secondary
Schools.
The Physical Education
classes have been introduced to
.some interesting options this
term. They can canoe, and sail
as part of the course. The
school purchased canoes this
year, and sailboats are
provided by Mini Mac.
Students participate in this
when there is a noon -hour_
preceding or following a
Physical Education class.
The Year Fite Geography
students, under the direction of
their teacher Mr.' Rittinger,
travelled to Waterloo yesterday
May 9, on a Geography Field
Trip. The purpose of the excur-
sion was to study the impact of
settlement between Goderich
and Waterloo. The students
were to count the number of
farms between Goderich and
Seaforth and draw landform
changes between Seaforth and
Dublin, as a part of their writ-
ten report on the trip. The
results should be interesting!

National Police Week has
been scheduled for 13-20 May,
1973. During this, week the
Goderich Police Force cordially
extend an invitation to teachers
of Kindergarten and Grades 1
and 2 to arrange a visit to the
Police Station.
Any teacher wishing to take
advantage of this can arrange
time and date by contacting the
Chief of Police.
Also during Police Week any
group, either. adult or youth,
wishing to have a policeman
talk with them is welcome to
make arrangements so that as
much community police contact
as possible results during the
week.
This does not mean that the
remaining 51 weeks the Police
Force wishes to remain apart
from such contacts. Police
Week merely allows Police to
devote a little more extra time
for such activities.
