Britnell advised council that
although the county solicitors
have advised there is "an ex-
cellent chance of recovering 1110
percent" of the total repair hill,
the county must finance the
repairs until the act inn is
decided "in or out of Supreme
Court".
•'it is most unlikely that the
action will be settled in 197:3,"
said Britnell, "but when it is

"It should be pointed out
that the remedial work now
being carried out by county for-
ces and rented equipment is in
accordance with the recommen-
dations of 0 soils investigation
report prepared by one of the
foremost soils consultants in
Canada and paid for by the
designer -contractor after the
failure," said Britnell.
Regarding snow removal this
past winter, Britnell ,said he
would estimate a 25 percent
decrease in the winter control
budget up to the i'nd of 197:1.
He said the last snowstorm in
raid -March cost the county over
$6,l)00 for snow removal.
.'Nature has :r way of evening

claims this was "an unusual
winter''

The retaining wall at Saltford Hill has been causing much
concern for Huron County Council in the past few months.
County Engineer Jim Britnell told council at last Thursday's
session that at times, the wall was moving as much as two
inches a day. He said studies show that the only way to
alleviate the problem is to flatten the slope to a two and a
half foot horizontal to one foot; vertical slope. Work has
already begun on the project which will cost an estimated
$150,000, including legal fees. Expenses will be recovered, it
is believed, through legal action against the designer -
,contractor for breach of contract. (Signal -Star photo)

Due to circumstances beyond

relations .seminar entitled
"Sexu _lity and Com-
munication" scheduled for
April 10 has unfortunately
been cancelled.
Dr. M. Cauchi, and his wife
Lorraine Cauchi, have however
agreed to present the setninar
on Monday, May 28 in the gym-
nasium of Victoria Public
School -at 8:00 p.m.
A "film titled "Sexuality and
Communication" which deals
with both the medical and
emotional aspects of sexuality,
with special emphasis on the
importance of communication.
It was made during a two-hour
presentation at the Ontario
Science Centre. as part of a
Adolescent
symposium on
Sexuality.
Using the medium of role
play, the film features A. B.
Chernick, M.D., F.R.C.S. (c)
and his wife- B. Chernick, M.D.,
Ph.D, of London, .Ontario.
They explore the subjects of
sexuality and communication
as they relate to both the doc-
tor/patient relationship and the
husband/wife relationship.
The film • stimulates
discussion and is ideally suited
for use by those involved in
family life counselling and
education.
...If the manufacturer of your
steam iron recommends the use
•of distilled wateF in the ap-
pliance, take heed, says Con-
sumers' Association Of Canada.
Tap water or chemically sof-
tened water leaves a residue
which will clog the small holes
in the steam and spray
mechanisn1s, and will reduce
the life of your iron. (`AC
headquarters is located at 100
Gloucester Street, Ottawa. •
The Cauchi s will then con-
duct a small lecture and
discussion period with all par-
ticipants. We are very grateful
to the Cauchi s for offering to
present the film as well as for
donating the money to obtain
it.
This should prove to he most
interesting and educational
and we strongly recommend
that all persons wishing to im-
prove their knowledge in these
areas to attend.
Programmes are still con-
tinuing at North Street United
Church on Monday and Wed-
nesday nights from 9:01) p.m. to
11:1)0 p.m. and on Saturday af-

4:00 p.m.
All those interested in par-

rather quick we have also ob-
'tatined - the rise.-.. of• the Kno '

Saturday afternoons from 1:00
p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for younger
