second game will be played on
Sunday in Bracebridge. The

In the final game of the semi-
fingl, Bob Webster scored at

shot from the blueline which
Wilf Keating kicked out.
Fisher dug out his own rebound
and tried to poke the puck bet-
ween Keating's leg, and the
post. The puok came out to
Fults who had an open net and
fired it home.
Ron Wilson and G.ord Neely
assisted on Bob Webster's
game winning goal at 1:47 of
the third. Webster's shot was
deflected into the net -by a
player standing in front of the
net Bill Gallow beat Keating
to his stick side on a breakaway
at 11:28 to put Goderich back

with only four minor penalties
being called; two apiece.
Tom Crawford played- again
but his back was still not cin top
shape. Wayne Rau, Jim
Farrish and hick Sowerby all
played with several bruises.
Petrolia was a' big and smart
hockey club. They had the size
and could really throw the
puck around. It was ari ex-
citing series. The first went
period and a half before anyone'
scored] In the second game
Petrolia built up a large second
period lead but 'Goderich
fought back in the third. The
third, fourth and fifth garnes
were see -saw battles with the
outcome not determined until
the final bell. Goderich won
the third, and lost the fourth
game in overtime. The fifth
game was a good way to end a
season, even if it had to be a
loss. 'There was great action to
watch throughout the entire
game.
The Sailors did great in their
first year in the league. They
finished second in the final
standings, one point nut of first
place. They defeated a good
Seaforth team in four straight
games and then defeated Port
Elgin in six games to win the
league championship. In the
Ontario semi-final they met
with a strong Petrolia club who
knocked_them off in five games.
Goderich had good support
from the fans during the entire
season. A special, note of
thanks goes out to all the mer -
c
,hants-who helped get the team
started.

Crawford and Joyce . Baechler
of Goderieh were the victims of
a somewhat less than
humorous "April Fool" joke
Sunday played on them by the
warning system of a commer-
cial aircraft.
The group were returning
home after a holiday af
Phoenix Arizona, Mexico and
Las Vegas when their flight
made an emergency landing at
Kellogg, Airport- near Battle
Creek Michigan.
As soon as the plane stopped
rolling the passengers .were
evacuated from - the craft
through all emergency doors,
down escape slides, leaving all
their belongings on board the
craft. At that point the pilot
had reason to believe a fire was
burning in one of his engines.
An emergency warning had
been tripped indicating the fire
and the crew immediately put
"down at the first airport large
enough and evacuated the
craft.
Mrs. Sheardown explains
that no one had any idea
anything was wrong until they
saw the fire trucks and am-
bulances below them as they
made the forced landing.
Shortly after landing it was
discovered the warning had
been a technical failure in the
alarm system and the
passengers were given their
belongings from the plane
before being bus`d to Detroit,
their original destination.
