Wilfred Pentland feels for-
tunate to be well again after a
truck accident in which a bale
of hay from another truck came
flying through his' windshield,
causing chest injuries and a
broken rib. He kept his truck in
'control and thus avoided more
serious problems.
Mrs. Irvine Eedy returned
home on Friday from Goderich
hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ott
and Matthew from Kitchener
were home to visit her and
assist for the weekend.
A carload of ladies attended
the Huron -Perth Presbyterial
in Seaforth on Wednesday.
Mrs. Patricia Clarke of Toronto
was an interesting guest
speaker. Rev. C. McClenaghan
visited Rev. Ure Stewart in
Seaforth that day.
Pastor Alfred Fry of Auburn
was guest speaker at St.
Augustine,. Rc►rnan Catholic
church on March 2 when the
theme "Alert in our 'time" was
his message. The three leaders
for the World Day' of Prayer
program were Mrs. .john
Franken Mrs. Lorne Hasty and
Mrs. Wesley Jefferson represen-
ting the neighbouring churches
who were guests. Cyril Boyle
and Father Dentinger 'sang
"The Holy City" as well as
leading the singing: There were
50 in attendance. Offering
($36.92) will be sent to promote
Christian educational projects.
Mrs. Robt McAllister and Mon-
seigneur Phelan -expressed
courtesies. •
Mrs., .lack. McGee went to
Pickering on Monday where
she attended the funeral of her
great-aunt, Mrs. John Wilson.
Friday Mrs. McGee visited her
mother Mrs. Elsie Haney in
Wingharn, and had her admit-
ted. to Wingham hospital. '
There was a capacity crowd
at the benefit dance Friday at
Dungannon Agricultural Hall
for Mr. and Mrs. Marinus
Bakker whoe horse was
destroyed by fire recently. For-
mer owners of this home and
-farm -were-1 Mrs. YRinlmer
Bakker, Everhett Finnigan.
Michigan. Others who .,were
guests from here were Debbie,
'ferry, and Ronny Olson; and
John Meurs from Wingharn.
This 10 passenger twin engine BAech Kingair owned by On-
tario Premier William Davis is currently resting at Sky Har-
bour Airport after it was damaged last week upon landirng.
The plane struck a patch of ice and slid off the runway.
There were no injuries. The engines have been sent to Mon-
treal for study and repairs.

KNIT -WITS
The second meeting of
Dungannon Knit -Wits was
opened on Wednesday,
February 28, at Mrs. Culbert's.
The girls discussed knit fabrics,
adjusting and altering patterns,
also cutting and marking gar-
ments.
Mrs. Roy Wintemute ' and
!qrs. Howard Culbert demon-
strated how to lay and cut gar-
ments. Next meeting will be on
March 17.

DUNGANNON I
The first meeting for the 4-11
club Spdrtswear from Knits
was held at Mrs. Bev Macln-
nis's February 23. The leaders
for this club are Mrs. MacInnis
and Miss L4nda Young.
There- are five members in
this club. Each member will
make some type of sportswear
using a knit fabric.
Officers are: president,
Elaine Stewart; vice-president,
Annet tee Hodges; secretary,.
Kathy Pentland; press reporter,
Peggy Young
Mrs. Maclnnis led the.
discussion on types of knits and
.showed . various samples of
knitted fabrics. Linda led the
-discussion 00 stretch 'fabrics
and choosing a fabric for sport -
wear.
The second sleeting of the
Dungannon 1 4-H club was
held at Young's on March
Members chose the
Dungannon Nifty. Knits for
club. They decided to have
green covers with black letters
for our record hooks.
A discussion on using the
pattern. cutting and marking,
fitting and getting ready to sew
with knits proved helpful.
Mr. and .Mrs. Ron Eggleson
and baby Teressa have moved
to the Moncton -Walton area to
be nearer his work on the
railway.

ney of Zurich visited on Sunday

Ontario Youth Bowling Coun-
cil Championships. This num-

the arrival uf spectators and

of the National Youth Bowling
Council. Winners will advance
to the National Championships

categories. The bantams will
be up to 12 years of age: juniors
between 12 and 15. and the

The Southern. section of- On-
tario is divided into 1 7 zones,
with each /one sending a con-
tingent of :I6 youngsters, s:ix
coaches and a zona represen-
tative. The youngsters sur-
vived preliminary rounds in
their local howling centre and a
suhse.quent roll -off in their
respectie zone.
The setting will he. a little
different froth the majority Of
previous Provincial Champion-
ships, with each age division
bowling in a separate centre.
in past Championships, the
youngsters participated in one
Targe centre. This year the barn- •
tarns will howl at Aprile Lanes,
the juniors at Ace Bowl, and
the seniors at Knob Hill Bowl.
All howlers will be brought
to Scarborough by chartered
bus. A banquet and awards
,presentation also will he held
after the howling.
Larry Daer of Goderich will
be the only Goderich bowler to
attend.
