county was held at Paisley ou Tuesday

A. Drake, son of F. N. Drake, president
of the Illinois, Indiana and Iowa rail-
road, was sandbagged and robbed of
$20,000 in cash, which was in enye
lopes for the payment of the employes
of the road. -h1r. Drake was knocked
senseless. There is no clue to the rob-
bers.

Presbytery of liluron.
This Presbytery held a regular: meet-
ing in Brucefield on the 14th inst. The
treasurer's book was audited and at
tended in the usual way. -Reeds. Ach-
eson, Martin and J. S. Henderson were
appointed to draft a deliverance fespe c
ting Mr Simpson's decease. Revs.
Stewart and Shaw were also appointed
to address the meeting of the Women's
Foreign Mission Society in January
next. The treasurer, Mr. Musgrave,
gave the annual report called for at
this meeting. A committee consisting
of Messrs Martin, Musgrave, Fletcher
and Dr. McDonald, Ministers, and Mc-
Laren, Aikenhead and Mellis, elders,
was appointed to consider the Action
of the Assembly's home mission com-
mittee in refusing to give the grants
asked by the Presbytery for Bayfield
and Bethany and for Leeburu.and Un-
ion church, Goderich township. A ca 1
was sustained fret,.., the congregations
of Bayfield and Bethany' addressed by
Rev. George McLennan, late' of Cam-
lachie, and provisional arrangements,
made for,his induction in the event of
his accepting the•call. Said" arrange-
ments are as follows: Induction to
take place in Bayfield on the 12th of
December, at 1 p. m., Mr: J. A. McDon-
ald to preside, Mr. McNay, to preach,
Mr. Acheson to address,, the Ministers,
and Mr, Shaw the 'people. Dr McDon-
ald on behalf ofthe committee on (Mils-
tein Endeavor submitted questions
which were adopted by the Presbytery,
to be submitted to our Christian En-
deavor Societies. Committiees wore
appointed to consider tha Remits of As-'
sembly andreport at next meeting. On
behalf of the committee to prepare a de
liverauce in re the late Mr. Simpson's
death, Mr, Acheron submitted a deliver-
ance which was adopted and a copy
thereof ordered to be sent to Mrs.
Simpson. The pulpit of Union church

On the recommendation of the Sabbath
school committee as submitted by Mr,
