CONSIDER CARROLL This advertisement sponsored by the "Youth Committee for Corral'," 4 4 'Years' Experience FOR PROGRESS AND • POSITIVE ACTION a .1, DEB EINFELT FOR EVE To the electors of the 'Town of Goderich : , I would like to present the facts on the recent controversy about my qualifications as a candidate for Reeve. Firstly, 1 do not object to anyone questioning, my right as a candidate, but 1 do object_to the manner in which, ilvi.as done. Mr. Haydon questionect my right as a candidate after reading an article which appeared in a Toronto paper. Based on this article, Mr. Haydon judged me as disqualified. 1 further object to the attempt to turn a council meeting into a kangaroo.court and in my opinion in an effort to discredit our present mayor. As a landowner, 1 have taken the right of any citizen and have proposed a subdivision (Nov. 1970). Council has always been fully aware of my position In this matter and I had left council chambers during any discussion referring to this. As this paper comes to publication the subdivision which was proposed over 2 years ago has still not been' given final approval: Subsequently, I consulted with two lawyers in the municipality and it was their opinion that I shoukl let my name stand as a candidate for. Reeve. The seeds of doubt have been sown. 1 look to you, the voters of the Town of Goderich, to make your decision based on my community participation over the past 14 years and more recently as a councillor for the past 4 years. On December 4th, 1 respecOully solicit your support for the office of Reeve. Deb Sitewfelt 4 / • • a •
