The Goderich Little Theatre is presently hard at work preparing their production of Neil
Simon's "Odd Couple". Under the direction of Betty Etue the comedy will open November 29

1972-73. season
Oscar (Ron Shaw) and Felix (Garwood Russell
The Goderich Little Theatre will open its first production of the
1972-73 season on November 29 for a three-day run. The play will
be staged on that Wednesday, then on Thursday, November 30 and
Saturday; December 2.
"The Odd Couple" will feature Rev. Garwood Russell as Felix
Unger, an ashtray cleaning, kitchen bound fussbudget and Ron
Shaw, as Oscar Madison, a divorced and devil-may-care slob, who
takes Felix in . after he too is thrown out by his wife.
Other cast members are Rev, G.L. Royal, Glen Lodge, Bob Swart -
man and Maurice Jenkins who play the part of poker players who
gather each Friday at Oscar's apartment for a few hands at cards.
Marjorie Robinson and Rita Ross portray divorcees Cecily and
Gwendolyn Pigeon, the girls Oscar selects to help take Felix's mind
off his, ex-wife.
The play takes place in Oscar's eight room apartment on River-
side Drive in New York City, where most of the rooms are filling up
with garbage, as Oscar goes his way without a wife to dean up after
him. The day he takes Felix in, however, things begin to change.
The three -act production, written by Neil Simon, will be directed
by Betty Etue and promises to provide the"audience with fast-
moving comedy. The play will be stage managed by Ruth Leonard,
with Betty Cochrane in charge of stage properties and Beth
Markson and Marj Macfie tending hand props.
'Wardrobe is directed by Muriel Reinhart, make-up by Martha
Rathburn, lights by John Reinhart, and the assistant stage manager
will be Mary Ann Shanahan.
Memberships are still on sale from G.L.T. members or through
the Coach House Travel Agency on Hamilton Street' Reserved seats
are arranged at Reg Tell, Optometrist, on The Square, between 2:00
'and 5:0 0, p.m., the week of November 27.
