Banquet honors players
after thrilling season
at Goderich diamond

Softball League held their
_- --season -wind-Erp banquet at the
Harborlite Inn on Saturday
evening followed by a dance. At
the dinner the.. organization
honored winning teams for 1972
and the,.outstanding playdrs.
' The Dominion Road
Machinery'teara won the overall
championship this season as
they defeated the consolation
champs Sifto Salt in the
playoffs. Sandy's Clippers
however, ,were the regular
championship as they finished
on top of the standings for
regular season play.

the Leo Baker trophy for his'
efforts. Batting champion Glen
Falkiner, who wound up the

received the Bill Kirkey Trophy
which was'. presented by its
donor.,
In other business, at the
dinner the various members
elected the new executive who
will tend to league affairs
during the 1973 season. They
are,' Past President, Ted
Williams, President Gerry Pitre,
Vice President, Stan Profit,
Treasurer, Bill Kirkey,
Secretary Bob' Cuncic, and
Tournament Chairman, Doug;
Fisher.

recently with playoff action and these boys emerged as
