At their regular meeting last
Thursday the Goderich' Town
Council agreed to support a
recently instituted plan by the
County of. Hurdn to standardize
the issuing of building permits
• where private sewage disposal is
concerned. The plan is to
conform . with policies of the
.Huron County Health Unit.
According to this policy a
• written layout approval and in-
stallation permit will be
required by' the owner or con-
• tractor before any work
proceeds on installation of a
private sewage disposal system.
The . Health Unit asked the
town to withhold all building
permits until the applicant has
received ,approval for a private
sewage disposal" system from the
Health Unit offices. •
Health officials noted that
there should be no delay. in ob-
taining this approval and that it
would' assure the municipality
that the lot was indeed suitable
for a private sewage disposal
system ' and that the house
would be erected so that there
was sufficient room allowed for
Trophy. adequate installation.
