Council is looking toward the establishment of "a more formal , relationship between the .Huron County Planning Department and the Town of Goderich.',' 'Reeve Paul Carroll- and Deputy -reeve Dave Gower, both members of Huron County Council, brought forth the motion which also called for the opinion of the Goderich Planning Board before any further action is taken. Reeve Carroll stated' that `continual and significant `signs •of growth in Goderich`s- residential, commercial and industrial communities warrant 'additional planning. He said Goderich i5 supporting the county planning department through taxation and should be "prepared to take advantage:' -of-the- services `offered- by that department. He claimed that county planning director Gary Davidson and his assistant Nick ,.,,a.Hal_s,. iou1d be attendin -M planning'board meetings in this municipality, The motion was unanimously supported by council and the matter will' be turned' over to the.. • local .planning board for further comment. The Administrative Committee of Goderich. Town Council will also be discussing the pros and cons of establishing "one overall co-ordinating committees for Summerfest activities." The motion, again put forward, by Reeve Carroll and 'Deputy -reeve Gower, was intended to ' improve co- ordination, publicity and promotion of the event. Reeve Carroll drew attention to. the Midwestern Development Council's brochure. assistance which is,, available but not presently used to promote the local .event. A' letter of commendation will be sent to the Pendulum Players of Goderich in recognition of their ,generous contribution to the cultural activities of the Town of Goderich during this summer's season. He met Dr. Barry 'Deathe, who decideda third partner with him and Dr. Roy Lomas :was favorable, and 'Dr. Lynch decided to accept. He will be in the only profession that really Dynpnn took ,them to live in Ireland. Dr. Lynch's father is an Irish tenor, who still sings in New York City. He attended Rockwell College in Tipperary, which has a school system comparable to high school here, Then Dr. Lynch went to medical school ' in Dublin.
