Well, here it is . mid-August
and autumn is just around the
corner; the only trouble is that,I.
think we have already passed
the corner. Not really. There is
much good weather yet to come,
so golfers, take heart.
Many ladies celebrated the
holiday, or took a break from
working throughout the holiday
weekend by coming out on
'Monday night to Ladies Night.
Whichever was th-e case,
everyone seemed to enjoy t_

Joyce Bolton with 'a first
followed by Darlene Crawford,
Ronnie Varga, Marg Smith, Bev,
Sanderson, Ruth Brindley and
Marie Bolton.
The social part of the evening
was headed by . Bev Sanderson
who provided a fun time for
everyone. Darlene and Patty are
in charge of entertainment for
next week.
Just about the time that the
men, were ''showering the
fairways last Tuesday night, the
cloud§ decided to follow suit
with the result that a few
fellows ended up a little damp
by the -thele their round-wa-s
complete.

Sandy's Clippers bombed,
Gord's Sports '22-3 in their final
regular season game Iasi
Thursday, August -1'1. They
lashed out a total ,of 21 hits.
Every player on the team had
one hit. Doug Spitzig led the
attack with five hits in six at
bats. Tom ,Crawford and Ron
Sowerby each had three 'hits.
Ken Daer, Morley Leeking
and Rusa Pruder all had two
hits. Rick` Sowerby and Paul
Paquette each had one hit, In
addition to his 'one hit, Paquette
had four walks. Gord's Sports
touched two Sandy's pitchers
for nine hits.' •
Brian Rumig, Bill Dundas
and Keith Good each had two
hits for Gord'. Jim McLeod,
George Vanderburg, and Ian
MacKay had the other Gord's
and two in the second before
Gord's got ' on the scoreboard
with one run in the third. Gord's
scored their final two - runs in the
fourth.
Sandy's .scored two in the
fifth, seven in the sixth and six

They will host the Galt Bantam
all stars with game time set for
2:00 p.m.
Two games will be played
that afternoon. The first seeing
the Goderich 10 and under all
stars (coached by Kaz Budny,
and Jim. Watt) take on the Galt
team; with the second being the '-
