Goderich Building . C'entre, a building
supply retail store on Angle.sea , Street
which also serves as the retail outlet for
Goderich'Manufacturiwg -Ltd., has been
closed since Friday morning when
employees at the store failed to report for
= work. -
Details regarding the apparent -walk out
by the. ,stare employees are sketchy with
they--S1gnal-Sf tr being unable to obtain
from either representatives of the store
management or the workers. Usually
reliable so:nrces indicate that eight
Building Centre employees are effected.
A'spokesman, for the Goderich Labour
Council said the. workers are not
members of any union and are not
represented on the council so that group
was involved in no 'way.
Jacques Pirie, president of the Labour
Gouncil, said when •coii acted by, the
Signal -Star that he -knew "nothing about
the problems atBmild itgyCentfe.. " and "I
woul-dn- t',teJLyou if did know."
Telephone calls' to the ,store are
answered by •the offices at Goderich
Manufacturing and. gneas'tions regarding
the store are followed by an explanation
that _it will be reopened next week.

Building Centre leave the customer confused. Above the bar,
they•are exorted to "Push" and to buy with their Convenient •

to a labor dispute, the details of which have not been untangled

installed as Pastor of the Roman
Catholic Ashfield Parish at St.
Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge.

greeted Father Dentinger on
behalf of—the three churches,
Lucknow,, St. Augustine and
Kingsbridge.•
Father Ed Dentinger is by no
means a stranger to this area
having been associated with the
-vResu rection i,st-Camp..Jaturania.,-
just south of the Church.
He was ordained in 043, . and
has spent most of his Priestly
years teaching. His. former
postings were at Cathedral High
School and St. Joseph's Parish,
Hamilton, He taught 10 years at
St. Jerome's High School,
Kitchener.
Besides being known as an
outstanding math teacher, bowler
and athlete,•'he likes to -fix cars.
He is from a religions family
having four brothers who are
priests and two sisters iii 'the
religious Orders.
The social' gathering in the
school gym was arranged by Mrs.
Walter Clare and •Clem Sterner.
The • St. Augustine and
Kingsbridge Youth Clubs
entertained with original " skits"
after which they presented Rev.
Henry Cassano S.S.P. with a
Donald Coughlan, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Coughlan, 352 Oak Street, won the Robertson award for
the best Grade 6 student at Robertson Memorial School. Donald's prize was a cheque for $50. Principal
Ralph Smith presented the gift on behAgJ #o lie school and'admonished Donald not to "spend it all in one
