Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell gave a reading on "Be Kind to Others." TIte Missionary theme was'given by Mrs. Elmer Trommer and' she readabouta church being opened in the Arctic at Frobisher Bay among the Eskimos. The hymn "Let Saints on Earth in Concert Sing" was sung. Mrs. Bob Slater 4'gave a• very interesting topic by Norman Vincent Peel on .Courage. His prescription was to read the 23rd vsalln on „awaking in the morning,,'after breakfast, after lunch, after •dinner and 'before going to bed,for seven days. Mrs. 1+ Thomas Lawlor, gave a reading 9n Give and Take. The closing hymn -was "Faith of our Fathers,''." Mrs. Gordon Taylor was the organist for the meeting. This Saturday, June 24, the Cubs play the Expos at 12 noon, the Giants -meet 'the Pirates at 1:15 p.m. and the Mets versus the Dodgers at 2:30 p.m. TheGoderich Legion Tykes lost their only game last week 17-14 to. Walkerton in Goderich on Saturday of last week. The Tykes held leads of 4--0, 9-6 and 11-9 before Walkerton rallied to win the game. The Tykes play agaip this Saturday.in Goderieh at 6:00 p.m: against Blyth. The Legion Pee Wees also lost their'only game last week 22-6 to Clinton on,SMonday, June 19, in Goderich. The Goderich Lion Bantams were the only team to win last week as they scored seven runs in the fotirt'h inning on Wednesday of last week to defeat Clinton 9-'13 in Clinton. This ' was the Bantam's 'only game last week. Goderich had ten hits to Clinton's six. Four of the Goderich hits came off the bat of Pat Conlon, who had three singles and a double in four at bats. Greg Beacom had a single and a double in three` at bats. Perry Fisher and Rick Moody each with a double and Ron Marshall and Grant Shelton both with a single provided the. other Goderich hits. Four of Clintons six hits were for extra bases. They had three triples, one double and two singles: Goderich pitcher ,n Marsnarl struck out 11 and 'didn't walk a batter.
