.on Saturday, May27 when Janice Colleen White, daughter. of Mr:'
and Mrs. Fred "White becam the, bride of -Glen Kethietti
MacCuspey, son of Mr. and M. . Kenneth MacCuspey all of
Goderich.
The double ring ceremony was•performed by 'key. G, L. Royal
and the wedding music Was supplied by William• Cameron.
The church was decorated with baskets of pink gladiolii and
white daisies. The bride was given in marriage bay her father.
' The bride's gown with jewelled neckline, semi -bouffant
• steeves,and;laoe tr„lmmned train v.,s;.fhteite.__from:.fatttasia
crepe. Her three -tiered veil in the shape of a crown was made
from Belgique lace appliqued on tulle as was the lace • on her
train. She carr' d a cascade bouquet .of white daisies, yellow
roses and lily of the valley. - "
The maid of honour was Miss Betty White.,sister of the bride;
and wore a floor -length gown of yellow nylon swiss dot with high'
waist and long full sleeves.
The bridesmaids were Bonnie White and Karen White, sisters
of the,bride and 'Debbie MacCuspey; sfster of the groom. Their
gowns were styled like the maid of honours but were in colours of
blue, pink and mauve. -They wore daisies in their hair and carried
basketss-of -white-etaisies- ith-•str-ea-tners ._ �_...-_. -
l'he groomsman was Kenneth Bowen and „the guests were
ushered by Mike MacCtispey, brother of the grocrm and Doug
.Crawford and :Steve Doak, all of ,Goderich.
A reception was held in the Saltford Valley Hall. The bride's
mother received the.guests in a lilac nylon georgette dress with
.sheer sleeves and a corsage -of yellow sweetheart roses. She''
wore white accessories.
' The groom's mother assisted wearing a_pink and white knit
dress.writh long sleeves and a corsage of white sweetheart roses.
She wore navy accessories. , '
For a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Nashville,. Tennessee
the bride,c tinged to a•'gbld crrimplene empire -waisted dres,

The young couple have'taken cup residence at 99 Wellesley St.
Goderich.
Prior to her wedding the bride was honored at a surprise
pantry' shower .t the home •of Mrs. Nellie McDougall, a
miscellaneous shower by Mrs. -Lenore"' Clements and Mrs.
Kathleen BOY/2.11 :the`home.oLMrs. Clements. Also a shower
was herd atthe home of Mrs.Gloria Kirkconnel, aunt of the bride.
Mr.` and Mrs. Murray Alcock entertained the bridal party after
the wedding rehearsal. Guesis were present from New
Brunswick, Col.lingwood, Woodstock, Whitby, Waterdown,
'Corurina, Huron Park, Clinton, Auburn and Goderich.

normally, a nursing home is
accepted as an asset to a
community in much the same way
as an Qrp.hanage is, with a kind of
stifling pity for 'its inhabitants.
The residents of Simeon and
Hanna are not recluses. Many.of
them are still uptown frequently
and tend to give up their old
circles gradually.. They are,.
therefore, nota target for pity.
Many of the applicationsfor
f admission come from the old
people,themselve,s. They
generally feel that they will be
amore independant in the nursing
home than with their relatives and
happier .than by living alone. A
person can feel that he can -give up
his own home and move into
Simeon and Hanna without really
reducing his statu:s .as an
�:- individual.
This that he still has tido
respect of others, that he is not
suddenly looked on as a
dependant, is an essential
determinant of 'an old -person's
self-respect, and the extent to -
which he will enjoy,,what remains
of his'good„ health and life. '
While the recommendations
made here,.may appear to assume
qty OVer-siinpTified refa1ionsi p of
cause and effect, it is realized
that the process of expanding the
system of care is more complex
than expanding its concept.
However, Simeon and Hanna
supplies us with a dynamic model,
working evidence thatothe'task is
not impractical, and that- its
consequences are rewarding.
