The support of the citizens of Goderich ,and the surrounding area is- much appreciated. The Penny,Fair Tea was held in the hall of Knox Presbyterian Church'on Wednesday, May 31st. Guests were received by the" president, Mrs. J, Berry,. the Next week honors all nursing homes Nursing Horne Week "in the Province of-Ontaryio—the designation given 'to the week of June°1;1 to June 18. This will be the .third declaration of " Nursing Home Week in this. Province and °''the entire membership of Associated Nursing Homes Incorporated Ontario will he going.hill dut to .publicize their - 'efforts and contributions, which are. considerable, t6 health care in Ontario. The true, value of Nursing Homes to our community life has never been realized or appreciated. Now, more than ever hefore,LLthe importance of Nursing,. The small tea tables, centred with arrangements of small flowers, were flanked with large baskets of lilacs, tulips and iris. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. 1 . Pridharn, Mrs. j. Kinkead, Mrs. R. W. Hughes and. Mrs. R.W. Bell. Mrs. M. I?etherington played livery piano music throughout the tea hour. ' Tea arrangements were made by Mrs. G.C. ,White assisted' by Mrs, B. Crew. Tea' was poured from a'White linen covered table tl centred with an arrangement of lily -of -the -valley, white lilac and pink tulips in a silver bowl and' silver candelabra with pink candles. Teak poprers were: Mrs. A.' Mach' an, Mrs. J. Kinkera Mrs. Cutt and Mrs. F. McArthur. Guests were served by Mesdames J. Kelly, I. Donnelly. J. Leitch% .E.' success Maclaren. A. Holmes and F. Overholt. Mi j. B. McCreeth was in charge of the kitchen with Mrs.' M.F. l,eeking, Mrs. C. Murray. Mrs. S. Sutherland and Mrs. R.W. Hughes assisting. Mrs. H. Knislev convened We" ,bake tables. Her assistants were rs' F Walkorn. Mr's. {t. 'McCallum, Mrs. R. Moxley and Mrs. M. Ainslie. Mrs. C. Worsell and Mrs. J.. Marlatt sold articles from the Gift Shop at the hospital from an attractively ar•ranged,display. Mrs..J. Marlatt was. convener of the Penny Fair, Mrs. A. MacEwan was treasurer, Mrs. F. Curry acted as secretary. - Mrs. C. Worsell •and, Mrs. Howey were the pri..ze Committee and Mrs. J. Kinkead was in charge of personnel. Denomme Flowers gave the use of the store as headquarters for -- ' the Penny Fair which is much appreciated. Mrs. L. Vincent looked after_ the advertising for this eyent. Mrs. J. Berry announced the winners of the Penny ,Fair draw during the tea hour. . Miss Robinson graduated from Wingham- Hospital in 193.1 as a registered nurse, and later did specialduty until spe went to work with Dr. W.B. Johnsson : -in . Lucknow.
