A twisted piece of junk
And garbage
BY ROOT SHAW
Last week I thought I'd take my dog fora walk' and
purely by chance decided to stroll along. the GOderich'
Waterfront between the. Sewage Treatrpent Plant and
the local Pumping Station. In that one short portion of
beach I•Stumbledover more garbage, junk and scrap

Since I make my livingtlby taking pictures I seldom
go anywhere without a camera so I recorded. what I
saw. Its far from a pretty sight and perhaps the
realization of what's really down there will prompt
some group to make an effort at cleaning it up.
Apparently it is -fashionable, or maybe just
convenient, to dump old washing machines oven the

wringer washers 'on that one portion of beach.
There's other junk too. How about barrels, broken
bottles, kitchen stoves, (yes, there's a kitchen sink
down there as well,) old tires, a laundry dryer, the
cq'niplete-chassis for both a television set and a truck,
old shoes, cables, ropes, electrical° wiring„ and
countless items I couldn't identify.
Its hard to describe what all can be found on a jaunt
along the; waterfront but it never gets boring. The
front door to the town of Goderi'ch., during summer
months especially, is; on Lake Huron. Surely we have
more pride in our community than what this area
indicates.
